New Zealand is located about 2,000 km south of Australia, and is the second largest island in Oceania by extension and economic importance. Its territory is extremely varied and has numerous attractions such as beaches, forests, mountains, volcanoes, lakes and rivers.

The main mountain range is that of the New Zealand Alps, located in the South Island, where Mount Cook is located, which is over 3,700 m high. On the North Island there are numerous geysers and volcanoes still active. New Zealand also has many rivers (including the longest is the Waikato) and lakes (the largest is the Taupo).

New Zealand has an area of about 270,000 square kilometers and a population of just over 4,000,000, mostly concentrated in large cities such as Wellington (the capital of the country), Auckland and Christchurch. The two main islands that make up the country are the North Island, the most populated and commercial, and the South Island, where there are the major natural attractions of the country. Other important islands are the Isle of Stewart and the Chatman Islands.

The inhabitants of the sea deserve special mention, in fact New Zealand is home to numerous species of fish such as tuna, sharks, dolphins and whales.

In sport certainly deserve a mention apart from the legendary All Blacks, the rugby players of the New Zealand national team, one of the strongest and most prestigious teams in the world, also known for the famous dance of Maori origin, the Ka Mate, which knitted players black dance before the match for the admiration of their fans and opponents, for what is considered one of the biggest shows in the sport.

Other sports include outdoor sports such as hiking or mountain biking, and water sports, including sailing.

The religion most widespread among the population is Christian, with a presence of large Protestant and Anglican minorities. The official languages of the state are English and Maori.
