The digital assessment centre helped me to improve on my  employability skills such as teamwork and organisation.  I stepped out of my comfort zone and I was rewarded with experience in the workplace as a result.

We came up with the idea of sustainable fairy light bottles. Finding a supplier for sustainable glass bottles and fairy lights took several weeks to locate as sustainability was extremely important to our team. By contacting sellers online and searching the web, we were able to find an online supplier to find glass bottles and fairy lights. In order to ensure that all the products were ready in time for the Christmas fair, we ordered the raw materials quickly so we could make the bottles ourselves. During the Ikea Christmas Fair we sold 50 fairy light bottles and made £350 revenue. The experience equipped me with transferable industry skills and knowledge about consumer behaviour. Working in a team also helped me to become as productive as possible. 

Organising elements of the photoshoot helped develop my time management skills. When my plan went wrong, I was able to overcome it and make it work to my advantage. I managed the process in priority and organised the items for the photographer. As the time management issue was out of my control, I learnt to be patient and made up for lost time where I could. As the work experience was in London, I had to use my time management skills on the busy tubes to ensure enough time was left to collect the clothes. Navigating across a large city helped me gain more industry experience about time management.
