What I find most interesting about singing Chau Van is its origin. It began in the Northern Delta of Vietnam around the 16th century. Until now, after more than three hundred years, Chau Van has gone through many ups and downs but still retains the peaceful, rustic but diverse and rich Vietnamese soul. At the same time, it shows that Chau Van singing has a very long history, especially when it was extremely popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Chau Van singing is a unique and unique art form imbued with tradition in spiritual and religious life.I think the most interesting about Chau Van singing is this is the organic relationship between a musical genre and a form of belief. The art of music seems to be an indispensable means when people want to communicate with the gods. If you want to learn about the belief in Mother Goddess worship, learning about Hat Van is extremely necessary. On the contrary, when studying Hat Van we should also learn about the legends and genealogies of the saints. Listening to the texts, it is easy to recognize the stories of the saints as well as the landscapes where they sat and became saints. Therefore, it is impossible not to have singing and literature in the ritual of worshiping the saints.

Adoration of Van, also known as singing of Van, is a form of musical ceremony associated with the Hau dong ritual of Mother Goddess worship. When it comes to singing and literature, most of us often think of elements with magical spiritual colors. With a unique melody, combined with solemnly crafted lyrics, Adoration is not just a one-way means of transmission, but can be understood as a sacred communication between mortals and gods.

Chầu văn singing, also known as "hát chầu văn" or "hát văn," is a traditional Vietnamese folk art form that blends music, poetry, and ritual. Originating in the Red River Delta, it is deeply tied to the worship of Mother Goddesses (Đạo Mẫu) in Vietnamese culture. One of the most fascinating aspects of chầu văn singing is its hypnotic combination of rhythm, instrumental music, and voice, creating an atmosphere that captivates both participants and audiences. The singers and musicians perform to honor spirits and deities, often entering a state of trance or connection with the divine. This unique interaction between performance and spirituality not only serves as entertainment but also as a means of expressing cultural identity and beliefs. Chầu văn was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, highlighting its importance in Vietnamese culture and its need for preservation.
