I think this was a super fun activity and way less collisions than I expected lol! Students who were shy in other activities really warmed up during this one.

The only modification I would make is having young students turn around and pick their shape so they aren’t mimicking each other.

This was a super fun activity. I really enjoyed how many different ways you were able to play with the parachute and when something didn’t work out I love how you were able to come up with a different way to go about it.

I like that your group was so energetic and ready to work with the kids. I also enjoyed that you were able to modify the bear crawls. One modification would be giving them something else to do inside of the hula hoop since that can be tricky for young kids. Maybe try having them do a half turn jump.

I loved how you guys brought back the parachute activity! It felt very nostalgic and was super fun. I loved that you guys were able to adapt as kids were coming in as we were doing this activity. My only suggestion would be to spread the kids out more around the parachute so everyone's height is more distributed equally. Fantastic job! Elle D

Using the parachute was such a great idea! It reminded me of elementary school and I really loved the mushroom idea!

I loved how the energy and vibes were high the entire time! I thought that most (if not all) the children seemed to have a great time and were happy to participate! My piece of advice would be to break the groups up more, or have us do something while we wait (like jogging in place) - Elle D

I like that you tried to get kids in the groups with kids for our warm up. I also enjoyed how you had it go kids versus adults for the last round. Something I would do to make it better would be smaller groups so everyone can have a turn or taking some breaks because my back started hurting.

I think the way you demoed this was great, switching from small group to whole group helped students learn the activity.

The only modification I would make is maybe a way to keep balls from getting stuck in the middle, I think it’d be a cool to make it a position in the game!

I think that this activity was really fun and can be adaptable for multiple age groups. I think that it was really smart that you guys had commands for stop and go. It was easy to see and know what was expected of us. The only feedback I have is that when changing from one type of movement to another having us sit just because a lot of us were moving the parachute while you guys were talking. Overall, fantastic!

I enjoyed the jumping and it seemed like friendly competition since it was rock paper scissors. I also enjoyed that you put kids and adults in groups. One modification could be doing something other than jumping, like a fast walk.

I loved your games, how there were so many different activities. It was fun for all ages and they were able to participate with ideas. One suggestion is to close out with what the kids enjoyed the best, they really liked going under.

I love the introduction of the rules and specific hand movements. Hand movements are great to bring inclusivity.

One suggestion I have would be to spread out the kids and adults, because the kids were shorter the balls tended to roll that way.

I loved this activity, I have never done this before, so it was fun to learn something new. I loved it when you guys had us circle up as a whole group and did one giant round of it. My only suggestion would to give us breaks between rounds for water or to rest - Elle D

I love that you guys chose a less intensive activity, as not everything needs to be high intensity! I also really liked that you had multiple activities to do with the parachute rather than just a single activity. I think that spacing out students so height is distributed would have been good so that it did not go so high on one side versus the other (which was not your fault since there were so many of us). I like that there was so much variation in this activity and we got to experiment with different goals. One change would be to spread the small kids out more evenly and have the adults not lift the parachute all the way up keeping it more at a kid size level. Great job!

I really liked that you connected it back to an old activity a lot of us had experience with in the parachute! The implementation of signals was key to the activity's success and smoothness! One thing I might have changed was to spread out the adults and children so that there were more ways for the students to get involved without the chute going too high! I loved your cues, and your hand sign for stop and go, good signals to remind the kids

I loved how you mixed up the different types of throwing the ball, ballon and the height of parachute

I think in a setting that big, you could use your voices a little more to control the group, as it go chaotic with the screaming and the noise of the parachute

I loved it though, and took me back to elementary field day.

I love that you brought back something that was exciting and nostalgic for the adults too! My girlfriend was jealous that she couldn’t come to class today so nice work ;)
You moderated extremely well so that it never got too out of control.

Modification:

I think having some sort of alternative activity for the kids who were scared to go underneath the parachute would have been a good idea, but that’s obviously something that you wouldn’t know until you’ve done the activity!

I loved how you followed along with the kids to help them remember the movements if they needed it. I love that you made it adaptive for the student with the broken arm and for some of us with back issues. I agree with Derek, the lines could have been shorter- but I loved cheering from the sidelines as well.

This was SO fun. It took me straight back to elementary school and I could tell students really enjoyed it! You did a great job with setting expectations and prompting students throughout the game. The only modification I would suggest is encouraging students to mix up, I know a lot were coming in after we started but they were all kinda clustered.

I loved this activity, it seemed super kid friendly and the kids seemed to enjoy it. I thought you guys spread out the kids and the adults perfectly so it was fair on everyone. I like that you allowed students to do a modified exercise if they were unable to do something so they did not feel left out. I think that having a 'coach' for each line was great to ensure everyone knew what they were doing and had someone to help. I liked about this activity used the parachute. The parachute is very popular among elementary students, and I could see that they had fun. I also liked how this activity included teamwork. Something that could improve with this activity is making sure that each student is aware of safety (lifting and lowering the parachute to certain heights, not crawling underneath the parachute when not supposed to). - Noah

You had some really creative moves in the obstacle course and it was inclusive for the adults as well.

One suggestion is to have more options for the bear crawl because it was a bit hard for the older people.

I loved that you used the parachuete. The kids were so exicited. I enjoyed that you did different activites and allowed students to be included such as asking them for their opinion on ways to take the ballons out. You did a great job implementing a few physical activities that made the students utilize different muscles they don't usually work. I liked how you showed each of the students the activities as they went in case they forgot. The one change I would consider would be to have students doing some sort of physical activity while they were working waiting for the others to finish.

One thing that could be included to make it more physically engaging is to all lift up and then walk in and make a big bubble outwards. I liked bridge ball, I personally have never played it before so it was a new game for me. I think that it was really fun when you guys put the students in the middle and they were supposed to get us out. The only feedback I have is to spend less time in the practice stage. Overall, amazing!

I think warming up with groups of 3 was a great idea! It helped the students that were unfamiliar with the motion to practice a little bit!
I think having the students go against the teachers at the end was super fun and a great way to boost the student’s confidence!

I loved this activity, it was really fun to see all the smilies on all the kids faces! It was a really good idea to have one student, one teacher when lined up, that really helped even things out. One adaptation that might help is encourage the students to pass the ball towards other students who haven't touched the ball yet. Breaking us up into smaller groups really helped us to bond with specific kids while playing the games with them!

Modification:

I think the littler kids could have used a buddy to help them figure out when it was their turn to go, but a lot of us were able to make that modification for them as we went through the activity!

I loved how you had us arranged with one student between 2 teachers to keep the circle even. I also loved how you slowly added more balls as the students got more used to the game. One thing you could change is making it so every kid got the ball because I noticed one kid sat down after a while of waiting for the ball. Maybe this can be solved by adding more balls or making smaller groups.

I loved this activity, it was very engaging and competitive! I think you guys did a great job explaining the instructions, I felt like everyone understood what to do right away. One adaptation that might make this activity even better is to encourage the teams to cheer each other on more, maybe even make a team name? Awesome work!! - Anna

Love all of the different creative obstacles and you all taught with great energy and got the kids excited. I would find a way to reduce lines to maximize movement and help students improve their fitness.

Nice progression with small groups of 3 working on different skills and good energy and progression with activity. I would probably go 3 circles with amount of students to maximize participation and involvement.

Love the modeling during the warm-up. I tend to try and stay away from exercise videos, but your team modeled and got students excited. Love the main activity. Would like to try with my classes and greatr having a bunch of groups going at the same time. Nicely done team.
