they are taught that whatever is beautiful is good with characters with the main heroes being attractive. Villains on the other hand have features that makes them less attractive such as having warts or abnormally shaped limbs or faces.

school aged children already have negative connotations when being called fat and prefer to be skinny

leads to people feeling insecure about their bodies

the belief that it is the normative to be thinner for females and more musclier for males. either way being fit is the norm and anything that deviates from this is shamed.

In the current movies characters are more likely to have traits that come from a mix of masculine and feminine.

Are they suppose to act similarly to people in the movies. are they suppose to be nurturing and take on a bigger house keeping role.

more submissive, not as aggressive and ambitious.

This is more commonly seen in earlier Disney movies.

Snow White makes a comment about the dwarves house being messy and assumes that it is bc they dont have a mother.

Now they can be seen as someone who is nurturing, brave, smart and assertive although they are still forced to hide who they are

If they are to ambitious it is seen as a flaw such as in Raya. the queen is seen as an ambitious person cast in a negative light. She also takes on a leadership role.

in past movies males took a leadership role and was usually the one commanding others. Most importantly they were seen as rescuers saving a damsel in distress

• a good example of a movie that goes with this is Hercules. The main character has a muscular build and solves situations with his physical strength instead of mental strength. (fighting that one monster that would grow two heads but failing to realize that fact until it is explicitly told to him) It is also shown that showing emotions or being emotional can lead to irrational decisions.
