         <description><![CDATA[<div>Technology was the biggest challenge and you had to experience it in order to solve the problems. Also if someone got on the wrong BenQ board, we had to figure that out. But, having a partner has been so helpful! If Zoom updated settings without us knowing it, that caused issues. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Lag time is a challenge for revealing the Mystery Reader, music/dance videos.  Also classroom timing is challenge when you have a remote learner.  You must stick to a schedule so the remote learner(s) can stay with you.  This affects the fluidity of the lessons!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Successes: more cohesive curriculum within grade level; digital text allows for unique learning tasks - like enlarging a book onto the wall for analyzing words or paragraph structure; having a remote advisor to teach the FSRL is really helpful; including in  person and remote kids has led to creative ways to do Morning Meeting; practice "remote days" at school to prepare for all school remote days; students' Canvas knowledge and independence has grown; instructional  videos can still be used  after Covid <br><br>Failures: it's challenging to go back and forth between in person and temporary remote; new students arriving in person mid-year with little advance notice is stressful; being tied to the computer makes it hard to help kids who are in person; feeling like we're under the microscope of parents of remote learners who are listening in; background noise in homes of remote learners</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Challenges:<br>1. Making the experience the same for in-person and remote learners.  How do we handle both at the same time?<br><br>2. How do we play games or work together when we can't be close together?<br><br>3. Teaching from home while students are in person. Impossible.<br><br>Strengths:<br>1. Being able to communicate needs, being vulnerable<br><br>2. Learning new technology<br><br>3. Back to school sniffles have lessened. Wearing masks, using hand sanitizer and staying distanced does have a few perks.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Recess has been an amazing success!  We've been able to divide the playground into sections and the students are excited to cycle through.  With PK in smaller groups, the connections with students is great. The classes have bonded more cohesively as a group.  Teachers know the students so well. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Using Canvas to stay organized and feeling like the module system kept everyone moving in the same direction.  I was so grateful that I was able to have time this summer to really think through the best way to organize my class and then to pivot  we go...adjusting the course with their feedback to tweak my canvas pages led to one of the highest approval ratings from my students!!</div>]]></description>

Two of us sent postcards to students at home, letting them know about successes and helping boost their self-esteem. <br>So important to make connections with kids in ways that were simple when F2F, but now we have to work a little harder to make those connections.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While all team members are positive and professional teachers, everyone agrees that this year has beat them down.  The biggest issue is technology.  They feel inadequate because they cannot use Canvas appropriately.  This came across from all members and new members who joined the group.  A suggestion to turn this into a success would be to appoint some faculty members who could be teacher liaison to help communicate needs and help teach faculty how to use canvas.  The big feeling is that people making decisions about IT may  not have a clear picture of what is happening in our building and what the needs are to teach young learners, what essential teachers need to help them run from classroom to classroom, log off-log on, disconnect-reconnect, upload so many different lessons....add the temporary remote to the mix and it is the perfect storm. It is a lot and everyone is feeling the failure.<br><br>The success...we are surviving.<br><br></div>]]></description>
