This will show how access and use of digital and computer resources is a privilege and how it comes with user and provider rights and responsibilities.

In an effort to provide parameters around the ethical use of computers, the Computer Ethics Institute developed the Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics.

The Information wall will contain the following:
The Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics,
Possible resources that would aid people in complying with these rules.
It will also address the following questions within this information wall.
Q1. Which of the Ten Ethical Computing Guidelines do you think students violate most often?
Q2. Why do you think these violations occur?

I believe students violate commandment number one and eight the most. Commandment one states, "Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people." I say this becasue cyber bullying is an ongoing problem at my stages of a students educational experience. Some students deal with this problem more than other, but I believe all students have dealt with this before. Commandment eight states, "Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output." This means that students should not plagarize, but many students do for a number of reasons.

I believe these violations occur because there isn't enough regulation for students on computers. Another reason why I believe these violations continue to occur is because technology continues to advance and allow people to find new ways to break rules.

I believe that there should be more regulation in place for certain things being said online in connection to commandment one. Students should learn to understand the power they hold online and how detrimental their decisions online can be to other peoples lives. In connection to commandment eight, I believe plagarism can be fixed by penalizing those who do it so it won't happen again. This is currently being done in many schools on all levels to show the importance of doing your own work and giving credit to work that isn't your own.
