         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Central coordination</strong> - communicate with contract groups; liaise with teachers to organise educational visits and social programme; organise catering for extra curricular<br><br><strong>Collect student phone numbers </strong>-<br>Preparatory work&nbsp;<br>Access to students email beforehand- GDPR<br>Access to Learn&nbsp;<br>Contact from teachers/comms/professional services?<br>Meeting students on zoom beforehand? Clear expectations.&nbsp;<br><br>Session on good essay writing&nbsp;<br><br>Consider other modes of assessment - presentation, video essay, detailed plan for creative writing&nbsp;<br><br>Discuss Marking criteria for City of Inspiration - change rubric on Learn.&nbsp;<br><br>Educational visits and trips relevant to subject area - COs need to be part of this planning and discussion as early as possible.&nbsp;<br><br>Longer course - e.g. 40 hours to include educational visits. Students wanted more content and class time but not practical to make duration of whole course longer (accommodation costs etc.) Suggest days should be 10.00 to 3.00 - some will be whole days of teaching (4 hours with 1 hour lunch break?); others could be 2 to 2.5 hours in classroom with educational visits up to 3.00pm. Either way, the longer day gives us better opportunity to incorporate education visits into the course time.<br><br>Curious Edinburgh app http://curiousedinburgh.org/  for some self-guided visits/activity. Could we work with Curious Edinburgh to create City of Literature &amp; Writing walk? Also City of Film?<br><br></div>]]></description>
