As a social worker, I approach my job with a sense of curiosity and try to learn as much as possible. Above is a photo that I believe embodies my pursuit to be a lifelong learner. It was taken this past spring at my doctoral hooding ceremony -- it was an accomplishment that I was very proud to celebrate with a couple of my fellow cohort members! 

In practice, I try to provide a safe, therapeutic holding environment for my students and clients. I think that it is important to meet the client wherever s/he/they are at and follow their lead. I believe that this approach to clinical practice aligns well with the NASW's Code of Ethics and promotes my clients' right to self-determination. While promoting the dignity and worth of my clients, I strive to engage individuals, families, and groups of people in productive, insightful, and introspective dialogues that cultivate their feelings of self-efficacy and personal awareness.

Life is full of opportunities and I think it is important to find where growth can occur within yourself. 

My professional goal is to maintain positivity and encourage growth of those I work with.
