The Swedesboro Library is one of the oldest libraries in New Jersey.

The Swedesboro Library offers many monthly events, including a book club. In addition to the book club, they offer "Book Club in a Bag," giving people enough copies of a single book along with discussion questions to host their own book club.

The Swedesboro Library offers a free "Homework Help" service as well as providing assistance with utilizing its provided research databases. These services would be incredibly helpful for a student completing an assignment such as a research paper.

Despite many requiring a fee to attend, I was able to find a number of events in the Swedesboro-Woolwich area related to literature. I found The Literary Love Affair event to be incredibly interesting, as upon further research I discovered that they are a traveling book store, looking to make literature more accessible in various areas.

The Swedesboro Library Book Club includes a wide variety of literature studied each year, allowing anyone interested direct access to both canonical and lesser known literature. They prioritize attempting to view as many genres, authors, and topics as possible, which is an amazing quality for a book club to have. They are able to meet all of the participants' literary interests this way.

Since 2022, Swedesboro has made great strides in closing the gap of economic and racial disparity in terms of housing and income. A new child tax credit has been introduced along with a wealth disparity task force being established. However, the road to closing these gaps entirely is still long.

Many of the library’s services directly address issues of equity by providing members of its community with equal access to materials such as the internet and computers. On top of these materials, the community also has free access to text and magazine databases. For those who do not otherwise have access to these resources, the public library provides it.

Literary Events in Swedesboro mostly require some variation of a registration fee, or require prior purchase of a ticket to attend. Economically, this makes many literary events, including book clubs and other pop-up events less accessible.

The Swedesboro Public Library offers a book club that is open to the public and where all are welcome. They require registration, but it does not seem that they require a fee to enter. They also address an incredibly diverse selection of books, including diversity in their chosen genres, authors, and topics.
