A few years back, Cambridge Analytica "conducted a study" where they were given permission from 270,000 Facebook users to access these users basic information such as their age, location and even things like what the peoples likes and dislikes were. These people were given a small payment in return for their information. However, recently one of Cambridge Analytica's own employees and co founders, Christopher Wylie came forward to reveal a shocking truth about the studies. He told the public that not only did Cambridge take information from the 270,000 who gave permission, but they also accessed over 50 million other users information by going through the users who gave their permission. In doing so, the company was able to create 30 million psycho-graphic profiles which are believed to have been used in major political elections such as Brexit and President Donald Trumps campaigns. This has causes a series of unfortunate events for Facebook, as the public is now entrusting of Facebook. The main concern to the public right now is that Facebook is selling their profiles and information or is using their information for something more. It has also been released that Cambridge in some cases may have had access to private conversations between users. Because of this security breach, people are quickly deleting their Facebook profiles and are creating posts on other social media to create more of a stir about this issue. Facebooks stocks have gone down and so far the company is down 60 billion dollars. Facebooks founder Mark Zuckerberg will be facing a court within the next few days to discuss his involvement in this and his thoughts on it all. We all know that social media will be booming with the latest facts and that its up to the users to decide what happens to Facebook.
