I needed something a bit bolder in order to speculative a reaction, or receive reaction from the made label. I used the typeface in order to design the pattern for the label, that are at this point without information, which I assume will be changed later, but at this point in my project, where I’m mostly mocking up my ideas. I’m yet to perfect the 3D mocks up in Abode Dimension, as I’m planning on using my pattern in order to furnish the background of the mockups. I also plan on working on an exterior label that will be placed next to the product as a caption, seeing it as the label is in exhibition, and the design caption explains the product. It is heavily typography based, where she’s her own typeface she has created for the wordmark. The color pallet is also very fun and bold in coordination with the theme of the whole projects. I like how free the label design is, is a square shapes artboard made in illustrator, it doesn’t contain information for the product, as it is not important in this context. As the product is fictional, and it’s made for product yet for a speculative way of design. This is something that ties this project with my Pitch and Kick. The mockups are also made so that they match the playful theme of the products, with using the same color pallet for the background. She’s using a variety of different products, such as using a name of a love song for a Windex bottle, which is a very strange, but makes it all the more intriguing with the concept. Over all, the mockups looked like promo posters for a shop that sells of these products. All in all, the concept was very simple, drinking the drink makes you RAD. It was all in the very quirky name, that shaped their entire campaign, resulting in creating an abundance of posters, labels, mockups that carries the name in a very professional manner. The color pallet relied on the usage of the color brown in comparison to some very bold and out there colors, such as pink, blue, yellow and red. I’m also witnessing some circular patterns, or the usage of the simple circle in order to create different variable outcomes. In other words, the usage of simple geometrics, mimics bubbles, as RAD is a soda drink, containing bubbles. Rad is sparking tea, that is unsweetened and organic, the posters all carries the net weight of the drink, which is a very interesting, I never seen that before, hence the poster is not a label, just a printable material, promotional. When it come to software, I opened up Illustrator instead of Abode X which I used to create my workshop Stylescape. It was easy to navigate as the pattern I’ve made for my label we all made in Illustrator before, so all the swatches were already there. Creating blocks, and deciding where to put in image was decided upon the size of the images or the shape per say. I wanted to make them in proposition size while not stretching them out. The typeface is Hangul by Velvetyne.hr, I’ve modified the typeface in the wordmark a bit, rounding the edges. I used the letter G in order to create the icons, or the pattern that I’ve used for the label. All in the Stylescape workshop really helped me understand the construction of the elements that I needed to merge in order to tell a story. Previous to that I hadn’t even know what kind of things made a Stylescape. I would have used a more photography based Stylescape beforehand, I would have also reflect on my brand manual I’ve created last year in more vertical approach to conclude my project, final Stylescape example.
