This photograph of these women represent community service through learning because especially at that time women could not participate in activities men did like baseball. Community building in a diverse society means recognizing the differences in the members of your community and seeing how that impacts them. It also means being able to find similarities that can bring everyone together. The four Ink Spots were a black jazz group that was accepted by both the black and white community in the 30's and 40's. They were a way that these groups could share a common interest and come together.
