I think that it also helped to improve the world since factories were able to produce items cheaper and faster because of ideas like Taylorism and the assembly line. 

2. The expansion of Labor unions occurred during the Gilded Age because worked were trying to obtain higher wages, shorter days, and better working conditions since these things were lacking because the factory owners were trying to make profit margins as high as possible. These organizations experienced success because they were able to unite the working class while also starting the process of better working conditions. Some failures were that a whole lot remained the same since the government helped to prevent strikes and helped the business owners rather than the workers.

3. A lot of the unity created in the working-class has been short-lived whenever it did exist because many of their efforts were broken up since the owners wanted to keep profit margins as high as possible. One example of this were the strikes since many of them ended without any change and people were forced to go back to work in the same conditions that they had been before.

4. The working class was divided because there were a variety in people's job since they could range anywhere from working on a farm, to a factory, to on a railroad which meant that they that all had different conditions in which they worked. Even though these people suffered poor conditions, long hours, and low pay, they were also spread out along the nation and technology wasn't as prevalent as it is today, so it would have made it harder for them to unite against the monopolies there ruling the economy at the time.

5. The "health" of labor unions today is that they still exist for things like teachers, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and pilots; however, they are not as strong as they were when they first came out and then when they peaked in 1950's. They still are around the nation, yet they are as widely talked about because the only time someone talked about it is if they are going into a trade and joining the union. They are also common at the state level; however, some of them exist as associations rather than unions. In the end, I don't think that labor unions are as strong as they used to be, and I think that they'll continue to get weaker and smaller as time goes on even though the pandemic may have caused people to gravitate towards unions for a short span of time. The Industrial Revolution further divided the working class from those in charge of factories. The products did improve the world, but in the process it continued inequality and was dangerous for the working class. 
2. The Gilded Age was when economics shifted from agriculture to industry. The conditions for workers in the industries were long hours in dangerous conditions for little money. The expansion of labor unions occurred trying to increase wages and create safer work environments for the working class. There were positive and negative responses to strikes. Sometimes positive outcomes resulted as the government listened while other times troops were sent in.
3. If unity ever existed for the working class it was short lived. Money is what our country revolves around. Owners of industries often lose sight of the individuals that make everything possible, and focus on the profit. Although we depend on the working class to live, they are overlooked. The working class includes a very wide variety of jobs which can make it difficult to be united.

I think that the Industrial Revolution made life better as it provided jobs to the working class.  The basic standard for life was improved as products were able to be mass produced and that meant cheaper goods.  One problem of the mass production was that the owners of these factories was able to make tons of money and the amount of people making essentially minimum wage was growing as more factory jobs were available.
2. As the United States grew rapidly economically, workers wanted to protect themselves from being taken advantage of.  A way to do this was to form labor unions to protect their rights as workers.  Labor unions stood for better hours for workers, better pay, and other basic needs.  One of the successes that the labor unions had was the 8 hour work day, outside of that there weren't very many other notable successes as most labor unions were full of unskilled, low wage workers and the government didn't pay attention to them.
3. Most the time there was not a whole lot of unity as the companies would often try to split these groups up to prevent having to pay their workers more.  
4. The working class is divided by their income, and also by the role they play in society.  Members of the working class have certain roles and they are divided from the other classes as the working class are the ones that work in factories and keep our industry going.

The Industrial Revolution brought along many steps forwards for technological advances but not much so when it came down to social understanding, classes were divided and inequality became a big problem.

The expansion of labor unions occurred because people wanted less work for more money. However, workers had to work long hours in unforgiving conditions which was rather hard on the mind and body.

Historically the working class has always had trouble between each other, people fight and opinions become a big game. Unity is something that people struggle with because they don’t see the virtue in individuality.

The working class is full of various raices, ideals, beliefs, and more.

I think that the Industrial Revolution help everyone a little bit and really helped the ones who were already at the top. It provided more jobs to the working class. The price of goods were marked down because of the mass production going out. The main problem was that the people at the top of the social pyramid were getting more money and better benefits than the workers at the bottom of the pyramid, who were earning minimum wage. 
2. The growth of labor unions happened during the Gilded Age. The conditions for the workers were not good. They worked very long hours and were compensated correctly. Just like everything else in the world, there were the obvious positive and negative sides. Along with that, people who supported this and people who didn't.
3. There was very little unity in the working class because of the difference in the pay checks. Money is something that influences our country so much that it also divided co-workers. The working class was underappreciated for how much they provided the country. 
4. The working class is very large and divided by their incomes. There is so much diversity in the working class, so naturally, not everyone can get along to achieve unity.

The Industrial Revolution improved the economy by mass producing goods but was greatly detrimental to the health and well being of the working class of the time. Not only was it possible for 8 year olds and up to work, but also the working conditions would kill most people by today's standards not to mention the minimum of 12+ hours of work a day and the low pay did not compensate for the work either. The world was improved by trade and exchange being more and more popular since larger production of goods was able to occur leading to more things being bought and sold worldwide.

2.  Because after years of harsh labor and over demanding hours, something had to give. So the idea of labor unions were made/formed to give better/fairer treatment for the workers of the Industrial Revolution into the Gilded Age.  Laborers wanted better pay and equal pay for children and woman, as well as safer working conditions and more reasonable hours. The successes of this were eventual equal pay, reasonable hours, and safer working condition (as things like insurance and workman's comp would late form) but the failures were that not all businesses experienced these successes because they never unionized to begin with. 

3. I would say that long term or short term unity among the working class has ever existed. A union is uniting against cause, if all working class were in unity, would unionization not happen sooner? 

4. There is only one thing in the world that divides the working class, money. This is due to the fact that cost of living, standard of life, quality of insurance, etc... are all dependent on money and financial success. Due to these factors, positions and job success divides the working class in the difference of money.

5. The state of labor unions today is in good health. With multi millions represented and being the one of the largest institutions in the U.S., unions are only growing and progressing at this point.  In terms of the state level, that is hard to say since every state has individual regulations, rules, and even unions themselves that separate and make them different from the other states.
