Many houses that caught my eye were bungalow with very clean clapboard siding, rich colors for trim & accents. I was kicking myself for not having a picture of a few. Meanwhile this modern style caught my eye as well (but it's not my favorite). And the purple below was one of the more vivid attractions.

You might think this is a head shop, or what we adults call a "dispensary" (I don't actually remember its context)....but it wasn't. In some areas the dispensaries were quite visible. Yet I think we went the first 3 days without noticing a dispensary. When I first learned about tolerance laws just a few years back I imagined a very visible drug culture out there in public. That might exist more in Eugene, yet Portland showed no street side parties (to my limited views).

With plenty of time to get to the airport we paused for pie. This place takes no shortcuts with a microwave. So while we knew we had time there was mild nail biting. The flavors and textures were worth the wait. Delicious! However the coconut cream pie for dessert did not pack the punch for flavor.....mostly a whipped cream pie.
