Many today don't have the privilege of clean water and drinking unclean water can cause various diseases in those who drink it. More than 320 million people don't have the money to buy clean water.
 
In Africa, underprivileged urban populations end up spending much more money on water. While those who are wealthy who also live in urban areas pay less for cleaner water and better sanitation systems.

Water scarcity in Africa is a dire situation and is only getting worse,
"lakes and rivers that used to supply ample amounts of water are running dry." (globalcitizen.org) Many are losing family lives and animals. This occurs because they don't have the money to pay for clean water and food as well.

Many people can't get clean water today. All this information shows us that we must try to help those who struggle for clean water. Doing this can stop poverty and make the world a better place.

The Roman Empire's water ran through lead pipes which contaminated the water. This caused lead poisoning which is a disease which results in kidney disease as well as brain damage. 
     Because of people getting brain damage and dying there were less people to work. Most of the rich people had pipes for their homes so a lot of them got sick, but people who weren't as wealthy still got it and this was very bad for the empire. 
     Deforestation, soil erosion, salinization (the process by which water-soluble salts accumulate in the soil), water and air pollution, and crowded, unhealthy cities. A lot of the deforestation came from a practice that involved cutting down trees. Deforestation led to the loss of a lot of animal and plant species.
Since the salts accumulated in the soil in made it harder for the crops to grow which resulted in less food for the empire.
     Many things led to the downfall of the Roman Empire but Environmental problems and contaminated water were the main cause.

Number 6 is all about getting fresh drinking water everywhere in the world. As we know the Romans used lead pipes in some of the rich homes and this led to lead poisoning. This is a fatal disease and it killed off a big part of their empire which eventually contributed to its downfall. People in the world today, such as Africans, are getting deadly diseases from the unclean water which is exactly what happened to the Romans. In the video, it stated that those who lose their jobs or are born into poor families can't afford the clean water they need to sustain their families.
