First, you will most likely get a punishment such as suspension, Saturday school, or a zero on the assignment. You might think you have gotten away with it, but eventually, if you keep it up, you will be caught. Cheating will stay on your record forever, it can ruin your chances of getting a job or getting into a good college. Also, the guilt will most likely stay with you for a long time. If you cheated and got a bad grade because of it, especially in college, it can make the difference between an A and C. As well as cheating, not being honest with an assignment can ruin your grade. Say if you lied on an activity log and said you did an unreasonable amount of push ups, parent contact could be made to find proof of your current activity. Then there is also the case where you think you have the material down and down study. This can also happen where you go ahead of the class and complete everything, only to have gotten it all wrong. Things like looking up the questions and copying the answers, is also a bad thing to do. If you do this, and we went back to school on short notice, you would not know the material at all, and fail the class. Academic Integrity is also important outside of school. Just being truthful about something will make you a better person. Say if you sneak a few 100$ bills in monopoly, nobody will want to play with you. Bottom line: Be truthful and honest.

It is important to keep because to cheat is hurting yourself! You may think it is the easy way out, but it is not. If you're teacher does not catch you doing it then they will try to make the class go at a faster pace assuming that you are learning.
