Globalization's cons outweigh the pros heavily; globalization brings in new factories which can cause air pollution, and more of Earth's materials are being used which destroys animal habitats, ruins nature, and can harm people, with the smoke and debree left in the air. Geography professor, Omkar Kolte tells us that, "... resulted in resource depletion, pollution, and habitat destruction,". And nature.com says, "Roughly 15 billion trees are cut down each year,". Knowing this space for not just people but animals are taken up by the same factories that pollute the air and use our materials. Is that new hot tub you wanted worth the loss of the same trees that give you oxygen?

Globalization is bad it can cause a higher wage gap. according to "nationalgeographic.org"it states "globalization may contribute to income disparity and inequality between the more educated and less educated members of a society". "Census.gov" states "28.4 percent of people experience wage gaps" These quotes show how just because people didn't have access to education they are being paid less.

Globalization contributes negatively to the world more than it does positively. According to National Geographic, "In 2013, a textile factory building collapsed, killing more than 1,100 workers." (National Geographic 2024). This quote proves that when materials are outsourced, it can increase the negative impacts of employment opportunities like child labor and poor pay. For these reasons and more, Globalization does more harm than positive.

Globalization is absolutely horrible for the environment. For example according to OECD for every 1% that sales increase it increases the pollution and CO2 emissions by .58%. Now while this doesn't sound like a lot you have to compare that to how much sales increase so sales have increased by over 50% since 2018 and therefore the pollution has raised by over 25%. Now you may be asking why should I care about the co2 emissions and the reason for that is because if co2 emissions keep rising it will create a snowball effect creating higher sea levels, hotter temperatures, and dramatic weather changes.

According to Research FDI, a specialized market research firm with worldwide market experience,"... the effects of globalization on economic development include a variety of positive impacts on economic development, including increased trade and investment opportunities, access to new markets and customers, greater efficiency and productivity, the spread of new technologies and knowledge, increased competition, and the potential for economic growth and development." There are many perks of globalization, as it has been a part of our world for centuries and gives us a more diverse and connected world. According to LinkedIn, “Globalization has played a significant role in facilitating intercultural learning and understanding, enriching cultural knowledge and appreciation among individuals.” In conclusion, globalization is an important part of a more enriched and economical world.

On the website "online.hbs.edu" it states, "When viewed as a whole, global free trade is beneficial to the entire system. Individual companies, organizations, and workers can be disadvantaged, however, by global competition. This is similar to how these parties might be disadvantaged by domestic competition: The pool has simply widened." (Stobierski2024). This causes competition pool to be widened so therefore making the parties who were there before disadvantaged by domestic competition.

Globalization, An international trade. While it might seem like a good thing, it really isn't. Globalization is actually something that causes more harm than good. For example, Globolazation benefits from overseas labor laws which can allow terrible conditions, places like China and India who has a high population and most citizens being below the poverty line china has 24.70% of their citizens are in poverty and nearly 60% of indian citizens live in poverty according to macro trends. not only this, but citizens have to work in sweatshops and factories, which are dangerous, dirty, and overall low pay conditions. and its not just adults, children also work in these awful conditions this is want warofwant.com says, if you support the act of Globalization then you are supporting sweatshops and child labour

Globalization is bad as it causes a huge negative impact to the environment and can cause a loss of jobs. According to "Harvard Business School Online", they stated that, "Unfortunately, it’s also led to serious negative effects on the environment... Since it isn’t feasible for globalization to end or reverse, it’s likely the situation will worsen..." (Stobierski 2024). As you may tell, these environmental problems will continue to grow on in the future. From the same website, they also mentioned, "CO2 emissions from transport will increase 16 percent by 2050... These emissions contribute to pollution, climate change, and ocean acidification around the world and have been shown to significantly impact biodiversity" (Stobierski 2024). All in all, with that many negative impacts to the environment, globalization is bad due to the amount of negative outcomes than positives.

Globalization has made many positive impacted points in life including, general economic growth, increased global cooperation, increased cross border investment, etc. According to, Harvard Business school, "It’s widely believed that one of the benefits of globalization is greater economic growth for all parties...(those lowering their barriers to trade) than in rich countries—5 percent versus 2.2 percent in the 1990s..."(Finance&Development) In connection, they raise the outputs in many countries, as well as uplifting wages, creating more available jobs, and generally lowering the prices of products around the world, helping many in need.

Globalization is bad because it had more of a negative affect than a positive affect. According to motionpoint.com globalization causes job loss "When industrialized countries outsource labor, it causes a shortage of jobs domestically. Laborers whose skills are no longer in demand experience higher unemployment, and struggle to adapt to the changing labor market.

For example, the U.S. trade deficit with China eliminated 3.7 million jobs in the US between 2001 and 2018, and more than 75% of those losses were in manufacturing."

Globalization is good one could say this because it can overall help the economy grow positively. Things like increased global cooperation, access to new markets, new job creations, more job opportunities and resources, etc. all come from globalization. According to, the website; "nationalgeographic.org" it states "Globalization also gives organizations the opportunity to take advantage of lower labor costs in developing countries." To continue, globalization helps end things like poverty, and hunger (which are apart of the United Nations) because more people will have more jobs which will give people money so they can pay for those necessities. To add, another website by the name of "gitnux.org" it claims "Globalization has contributed to a 14% reduction in poverty since the late 1990's." All in all, the world can greatly benifit from globalization.

Globalization is benefit because there's more access to labor, according to https://online.hbs.edu/ , the information on the site reads, "Developing nations with a shortage of knowledge workers, for example, "import" labor to kickstart industry. Wealthier nations, on the other hand, might outsource low-skill work to developing nations with a lower cost of living to reduce the cost of goods sold and pass those savings on to the customer." One of the benefits of globalization is that more workers are able to compete within the labor market as a whole. There's also access for more jobs, from the same resource as stated before, the site also states, "developing nations often gain access to jobs in the for of work that's been outsourced by wealthier nations" Globalization also increases competition in the international workforce as more more employees can apply for opportunities in other countries.

Globalization is bad because it has a negative impact on the environment, major job loss, worsened labor standards, and more. "CO2 emissions from transport will increase 16 percent by 2050. These emissions contribute to pollution, climate change, and ocean acidification around the world and have been shown to significantly impact biodiversity," (online.hbs.edu). Due to all of the transport more and more of the air is being polluted not only affecting the environment but could potentially affect people as well.

Globalization is good because one aspect of globalization, new markets, helps society's maintain wellness within everyone. One may say this because the website "courses.lumenlearning.com" states, "Common benefits of expanding into developing markets include unsaturated demand for new products, lower labor costs, less expensive natural resources, and other inputs to products". This quote supports the claim because it proves how if there is lower labor costs, and less expensive natural resources will help people have good amounts of money; to eventually maintain wellness. In conclusion globalization is good because New markets will help society's maintain wellness, wholeness, and prosperity.

Globalization is vital to movements into the future and technology. Not only technology but in the movement to eliminate poverty and reduction of global income equality. According to "imf.org" it states, " They concluded that since 1980, globalization has contributed to a reduction in poverty as well as a reduction in global income inequality. They found that in "globalizing" countries in the developing world, income per person grew three-and-a-half times faster than in "non-globalizing" countries, during the 1990s.(staff 2022)" As one can see from the quote above the difference and impact globalization had on poverty through the 1990s. Not only poverty but income equality for all men and woman alike. Having the ability to have a world free of poverty is important and vital part in the world's advancement.

Globalization is good because it captures in its scope the economic and social changes that came about as a result. It began because of the silk road, an ancient network across China, Central Asia and the Mediterranean. This was used between 50 B.C.E and 250 C.E. its the most well known example of exchanging ideas, products, and costumes. Globalization is also good because it involves the movement and blending of goods and people across different countries.

According to the group of people working with Research FDI, it claims "the effects of globalization on economic development include a variety of positive impacts on economic development...." Thus meaning globalization has its benefits on most people. According to another site globalization can be proven to expand along the supply chain, provide a greater supply of products for people, and increase trading growth. One can say the quote shows globalization has its positives and shows that it has a good aspect and train of thought for people on everyday life.

Globalization has more negative aspects that outweigh the positive because if nations were to grow from globalization, there will be disproportionate growth, and increased competition between them. For instance, as stated in Harvard's website, "Another issue of globalization is that it can introduce disproportionate growth both between and within nations. These effects must be carefully managed economically and morally" (online.hbsedu 2024). Disporportianate growth goes against what the main point of globalization is, as its main mission is to communicate and share between nations. This can also cause competition between the nations due to the jealousy that one has more than the other. These side effects should be recognized, as it is a very important part when taking into account the pros and cons. In conclusion, this is why globalizations' risks outweigh the positives tremendously.

Globalization is a negative because of all of the disadvantages that it can create throughout the different countries. An example from online.hbs.edu states, "When viewed as a whole, global free trade is beneficial to the entire system. Individual companies, organizations, and workers can be disadvantaged, however, by global competition. This is similar to how these parties might be disadvantaged by domestic competition: The pool has simply widened." This shows how since more countries have globalization there is way more competition gained. If one country were to make one good trade the other country (countries) could get very jealous and this could cause very deep competition. This is just one of the reasons why Globalization is Bad.

By every conceivable measure, Globalization is the fundamental factor driving forward the progression of humanity as a whole, being the single greatest positive contribution to mankind by every value we share; collectively increasing quality of life, innovation, and the coherence connecting cultures, countries, and the world in a scale never seen before. An example highlighting the inherent positives behind globalization can be found according to National Geographic: "In general, globalization decreases the cost of manufacturing... The average cost of goods is a key aspect that contributes to increases in the standard of living... Consumers also have access to a wider variety of goods... In some cases, this may contribute to improved health by enabling a more varied and healthier diet" (nationalgeographic.org 2018). From this, one can infer not only as to the inherent benefits stemming from a decrease in manufacturing cost, allowing for people worldwide, both poor and rich, to fundamentally increase their standard of living, whether it be in regard to technology, or in basic goods such as clothing and housing. It is for these reasons and more that Globalization, in every aspect, is one of the
