Il est né le 20 novembre 1841 à Saint-Lin-Laurentides au Québec. Il a débuté ses études de droit à McGill en 1861. Pendant ses études, il a côtoyé  les membres du groupe qui prônait le libéralisme. Laurier a été avocat, journaliste, puis homme politique. À partir de 1871, il a commencé à se faire connaître auprès de la population en se présentant aux élections dans sa circonscription. Il a travaillé à la fondation d’un parti libéral national. En 1896, il a gagné les élections et il est devenu le premier francophone à devenir premier ministre du Canada. Pendant ses mandats, il a travaillé à régler les conflits entre les francophones et les anglophones, il a favorisé l’immigration vers l’Ouest  du Canada, il a aussi permit la construction d’un nouveau chemin de fer transcontinental, en plus d’avoir assisté la création de l’Alberta et la Saskatchewan. Wilfrid Laurier a perdu ses élections en 1911. Il est décédé le 17 février 1919.

Il est le fondateur de la ville de Québec.  En 1601, il est devenu géographe pour le roi Henri IV et il a par la suite, rejoint une expédition au Canada en 1603. Son aide était très utile lors de ce voyage, il a donc été choisi pour participer à d’autres excursions. Il explora plusieurs endroits en Amérique du Nord avant de s’installer à Québec en 1608.
