The concept of Zero Waste City consists of a total of 6 detailed items.
New infrastructure and system research: Establish a system to study infrastructure and technology to reduce waste generation 100%: Efforts to gradually replace disposable waste with recyclable materials.
Sustainable consumption behavior: The process of society accepting policies and research results and gradually revising behavior so that it can reduce waste, and society and cities change sustainably.
Changes in industrial design: Intercot design (how to think of resources as nutrients in vivo and design industries), clean production, and giving responsibility to products, etc. to make the industry partially responsible for reducing waste. As expected, it needs to be sustainable.
I was very impressed with the presentation on digital receipts, not Starbucks' paper, which corresponds to this. In terms of environment, Starbucks' move should be considered high, but in terms of "regulation of disposable products," paper straws were first introduced, but recently, it has not been observed as if using disposable cups in stores, so I wonder what you think.

Seeing the cases of Starbucks siren order, I was glad to see the technology I use is a digital transformation technology. When I am hurry on time, I use Siren Order with my phone, and think this DT is very helpful.

For the aspect of paper receipts, I sometimes use mobile receipts. As the lecture said that e-receipts are increasing, I thought about e-ticket of buses and trains. I commute with Korail or SRT trains instead of cars, and thought just booking ticket with my Korail Talk app reduces the waste of paper receipt waste. Using those removes the need to use paper, and I was glad that I am contributing to environmental protection.

But, at chapter 2, electronic trashes are exported to developing country or non-developed country. That might still cause problem, and I think the country that discarded that kind of trash should develop ways to recycle their trash themselves.

Notwithstanding, I was pretty relieved that many countries are trying to reuse their digital waste. Tokyo's digital mine system, data center, and recycled waste Stadium are great! And I am happy to find Samsung reuses their digital waste 95% and more.

To conclude, I hope that many companies develop ways to reuse their digital waste. For me, I will try to reduce paper waste, or receipt waste by using Korail's E-Ticket or Starbucks' Siren Order more often. Or I'd refuse getting receipts if available.

It has affected many parts in our lives in a positive and negative way. the positive effects were about saving the environment. The receipts can lead to carbon dioxide production, but because of DT, it was able to lessen it. Electronic bills and receipts has helped us to use less paper, which eventually lead to less productions of carbon dioxide. However, the negative effects were the digital waste due to the increase of digital devices supply. I've learned that there has been many efforts in order to save the environment, such as making olympic medals out of digital waste.

As technology has evolved and changed, our society has changed a lot. In the digital age, much of our lives have become digital, which has led to benefits and disadvantages. The advantage is that there is not much garbage, such as receipts. Receipts contain a lot of bad carbon in the environment, which can be reduced. However, the disadvantage is that too much garbage from electronic devices is too much, and carbon footprints become increasingly severe, and when using electromagnetic devices, they can be converted into electromagnetic devices, causing problems. Therefore, we need to reduce the use of unnecessary electronic devices and make habits that are more concerned with our environment in order to protect the environment.

Digital transformation is economical and helps in environmental aspects, such as reducing the number of receipts. However, there is also a disadvantage that many digital waste can be produced as many products for digital transformation are produced. Also, digital waste is exported to developing countries, causing environmental pollution. To solve this problem, a plan to recycle waste is being devised. I think the countries' active investment in digital transformation should be made, and at the same time, policies to regulate digital waste emissions and measures to recycle them should be created.

We are all too aware of how limited space there is left to dump out trash, but there is not much action, at least not as much as would be needed to combat these environmental problems. Creating trash lands and turning landmasses into wastedumps is a reality, and it cannot simply be solved with companies' petty efforts to cover up what actual damage they are doing to our Earth today. Stronger punishment and related policies should hold companies accountable for their faults, and ask them to pay for carbon dioxide emissions factories have released into the Earth's atmosphere.

Digital Transformation, or DT for short, has changed our lives in various parts of our lives. Digital Receipts, which Starbucks first brought into Korea, has made a large change in our lives. It reduced trees cut down for the reciepts and additional polutions that comes when we dispose of it. Although the technology itself is good, digital trashes exported into developing countries, or polutions that comes out when we store datas are still a problem to us. I think if we make an international agreements on not exporting the digital wastes and makes moral actions forcibly by the global eyes, we may solve the first problem. I think much more strict regulations may come for fo solve environmental problems coming from the digital trashes.

Especially, statistics regarding saved receipts thanks to siren order were interesting. And I really like this video because this provides not only impressive advantages of DT but also problems caused by DT. I agree that Digital Waste is a serious problem. I hope digital devices which are not used anymore to be exported and used in other country who need that devices. And I think 'Apple GiveBack' program is very desirable.

Watching this video, I realized that Digital Transformation can affect environment in both positive and negative ways.
To use DT wisely, people should know more about DT and its' effects on environment. Governments should regulate its' harmful effects by making laws. Enterprises should develop many programs that can reduce waste.

I agree with the fact that digital transformation is helpful for the environment. It can lessen the pollutions that the traditional method caused. However, the thing is that digital transformation may not be the best choice for us. First, Korean society is getting older and older, making more people unaccustomed to new technologies. As an aging society, Korea should consider and include the old, and DT is not helping on this aspect. For instance, there are several interviews and articles saying kiosks are troubling not only the olds but some people in their 30's and 40's. However, the size of the kiosk market is growing constantly-from 60 billion won in 2006 to three trillion won in 2018. Not just kiosks but newly developed technologies including Siren service is deepening this problem of exclusion of the olds. Saving the environment is important. But making more people accessible for services is as important as that. If people cannot make use of technology, what is the need of keeping it?
Also, there is an issue with digital technology itself as well. Digital data, including spam, digital receipts, and forgotten information in the online world, is stored in 'packets' on the network. The problem is that they take up too much packet space, wasting them with unnecessary inputs. These days, when our lives move from offline to online a lot, there will be more ways to save resources using online.

Similar to how digital transformation reduces waste from receipts, I feel that the use of paper has increased in schools and offices in recent years. However, there are problems DT causes that we cannot overlook. So it is very important to focus on reducing the potential harms and maximizing the benefits.

I always thought digital transformation would only pollute the environment, but I was surprised to learn that it was a useful technology for protecting the environment like Starbucks Apps and Apple Giveback. In this way, digital transformation should be used in a way that does not cause environmental pollution. We believe that international cooperation and development are necessary to promote these apps. If environmental protection apps are developed through various agreements, pollution factors that cause climate change will be eliminated.

wonLike the information presented in the video, digital transformation shortens the time for customers to buy drinks or various items. I also frequently use applications created by franchise cafes that use digital transformer technology. Not only can I shorten the time by placing an order according to the time I arrive, but I also recommend the drink I drink often when I buy it. Reducing paper receipts will have a positive impact on the environment. It is difficult to prevent the use of prints that must be printed. However, it is wrong to issue so many papers that tear apart as soon as you receive the receipt. In addition, unlike paper receipts, electronic receipts are unlikely to be lost, and you can check your purchase list at any time

However, the problem of digital waste seems to be serious. Digital waste is being dumped into many developing countries, and developed countries should not pass on the responsibility to developing countries, and companies need to think of innovative alternatives. Recycling digital wastes and using them is one of the good ways to solve digital waste problem.

In the introduction, it was nice to ask viewers to choose between coffee they drink in the morning and arriving on time, and open the presentation, saying that the siren order can take care of both. Assuming that I have to drink coffee in a hurry, I naturally think of leaving the house ordering coffee with a Starbucks app. Starbucks' siren order is the product of digital transformation that we enjoy in everyday life. Thanks to it, I became more interested in the somewhat unfamiliar topic, digital transformation.
Among the contents that followed, electronic waste and digital carbon footprint were the most impressive. I already knew that when electronic products such as televisions, washing machines, and cell phones are discarded, they are called electronic waste, and they are exported to developing countries. But it was shocking to wrap it up as used goods. I'm not sure if I deserve to be angry at this without knowing where my discarded cell phone is going. However, it is clear that I am obligated to pay attention to this, knowing that it is unjust.
When it comes to digital carbon footprint, spam mail comes to mind first. This is because I was impressed with a lecture a few years ago that emptying the spam box could help prevent environmental pollution. In reality, throwing away is often harmful to the environment, but it is usually the opposite to do so online. I wonder how much harmful substances are emitted in the process of storing and processing information, and to what extent emptying the mailbox in dozens of spam emails has an impact.
It is said that 30% of medals used in an Olympics are digital waste, and Samsung set a zero-waste goal and is trying to achieve it. It is important to give a positive impact on the environment directly, but I think it is first to make even a little effort now. As the presenter explained, "public awareness" is essential to solving environmental problems.
