         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Railroad strike of 1877 began on July 17th, 1877 in Martinsburg, west Virginia. It was cause because the works wage was reduced twice in the past year. The workers didn't let any trains pass until the recent pay cut was returned to the workers. The strike lasted until the end of August in 1877 due to federal government intervention.</div>]]></description>
