They are transported to a safe place for a while, to where they see some weird stuff and lose one of their members. From there they are given instructions to get to a place 100 miles north from the location they are at and get to a safe haven where they have a cure for the disease that they all received. While on the way to there, they find their lost member and meet another group that has gone through the exact same things. At first they capture and plan to 🤬 the main character, but after a while they decide he is a good guy. They travel together through crazy people and horrendous lightning storms, and eventually make it with the loss of many of their people.

Thomas can see stuff from his past about what all had happened and why everybody has gone through the stuff that they've had to deal with. He is very compatible and an overall upstanding person. He is quick in speed and has the combat skills of a warrior. 
Even though he has a lot of good traits, but they sometimes come at a disadvantage when getting to know other people. He trusts too much in other people that he has no business being with. He is known as a good guy and people like to get on him for that. They put people in danger other than themselves, so that the world can be disposed of this disease that turn people crazy. They have a good reason for doing things but they way that they put other people through is just brutal.
     They have put together tests to see if these teenage kids could handle them. They stranded a bunch of kids with only beds and nothing to eat for almost 3 days. Then they were only told directions to a place and a certain time to be there with no supplies or anything for them to go off of except for food and water. They are given basic supplies such as food and water and need to make it to the end before the time expires. They are faced with challenges such as a decapitating metal ball, a much higher temperature than normal desert, crazy people called cranks, and lightning storms that if stricken by directly will 🤬 someone. 
Things that they do to resolve this problem:
1: They take cover in the sunlight or wear something over them to protect them from the raw heat exposure
2: They leave the cave because that is where those metal balls attack them at.
3: They try to make friends with the cranks but after realizing how screwed up their brains were they killed them.
4: Every time a storm came they ran to the nearest type of shelter possible.
