I am 32 years old from Baguio, Benguet, Philippines.

I traveled to Canada with a goal in mind after finishing my Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from a well-known prestigious school in my hometown called Saint Louis University Baguio in 2015. I'm currently taking the field of business management, with a focus on Business supply chain and logistics management. Furthermore, I'm looking into the public sector since I know how crucial it is to the development of economies and communities.

I have an experience managing and running a remittance center and a variety store back home. I believe that by combining the knowledge from the public sector, supply chain management, and logistics will improve my ability to promote constructive change in the business and community development sectors.

I'm eager to acquire new skills and expand my knowledge as I go on this adventure, eventually hoping to use what I learn to enhance operations and support public service projects when I go back to the home country.

It's a terrific day, and I can't wait to learn more about the public sector. It is a rewarding experience to discover new ideas and delve into the complexities of government participation in procurement; I can't wait to learn everything our class has to offer.

Each group was entrusted with choosing a public agency to present on throughout this week's class sessions. We explored subjects like bio, standardization, group buying, and the industry's prevailing problems during the program. We also looked at the various governmental engagement levels, from local to federal and provincial. It became clear that laws, rules, and policies from the government greatly influence how public procurement activities are carried out.

This week's lecture was law study, specifically as it relates to the public sector. The main document guiding legislative, political, and administrative matters in Canada is the constitution. It creates the supreme legal authority and directs the processes involved in making decisions. In the public sector, laws set standards for behavior and use established rules and regulations to further the interests of the community.

We discussed the various document types—such as RFPs and RFI that are utilized in the bidding process. These procedures aid in ensuring that the government purchases goods at the greatest possible price.

Laws governing procurement ensure that the public sector purchases goods and services fairly by requiring competitive bidding and moral behavior from officials. By engaging minority and small enterprises in government contracts, it also encourages diversity. In general, it keeps public sector spending honest and transparent.a

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) presentation we had in class today rekindled my boyhood goal of working as a police officer. I was reminded of my lifelong obsession with police enforcement as I listened to the conversation and was brought back to my childhood games of cops and robbers. Finding firsthand about the OPP's activities—from community outreach to crime prevention—was enlightening and motivating. I now have a greater understanding of the difficulty of their work and the commitment needed to serve and safeguard the public.

Furthermore, the lecture emphasized the variety of employment options found in the public sector. It confirmed my desire to work in a field where I can positively influence society. Whether it be in community development, law enforcement, or policymaking, today's conversation strengthened my resolve to make a significant contribution to my town's improvement and stoked my enthusiasm for public service.

The public sector requisitions lesson we had today provided an important window into how governments allocate their resources. Formal requests for goods or services are known as requisitions, and they are essential to the effective use of public monies. Understanding the phases of commencement, approval, and procurement made it clear how crucial accountability and following rules are to protecting public funds.

Furthermore, comprehending requisitions brought to light the necessity of cooperation and coordination between various government agencies as well as with other parties. To effectively accomplish organizational goals, streamlined communication and collaboration are essential components of efficient requisition management. Overall, this lesson emphasized the importance of prudent resource management in governance as well as the real-world complexities of public sector operations.

We focused on Modules 8 and 9 today, going over the nuances of scopes of work and specifications as well as evaluation criteria in the context of public sector procurement. We discovered in Module 8 how important it is to specify project needs precisely in order to avoid misunderstandings and maintain openness with suppliers. By ensuring that all parties involved are in agreement with the project's goals, this stage helps to streamline operations and lower the likelihood of delays or conflicts.

Additionally, Module 9 provided further details on the evaluation procedure, stressing the need of thorough evaluation meetings, the formulation of strict evaluation criteria for bids, and the distinction between qualified and unqualified vendors. These modules emphasize how important it is to carefully design and evaluate public procurement projects in order to maximize value for all parties involved, including taxpayers.

We've covered codes of ethics this week, which has been fascinating. The significance of these rules in regulating conduct has been a topic of dispute, especially when it comes to public procurement. Codes of ethics define acceptable and unacceptable behavior and act as guiding principles. Following these guidelines is essential in the field of public procurement to guarantee the process's integrity, fairness, and transparency.

We've looked at how codes of ethics can stop unethical actions including making personal purchases, taking advantage of supplier privileges, and using dishonest tactics. Procurement experts contribute to the efficient and moral operation of public institutions by upholding public confidence in the procurement process and by abiding by established rules of conduct.

Our study shed light on the inefficiencies that beset these vital functions, ranging from labor-intensive manual procedures to exorbitant errors and expenses.

Our team persisted in the face of obstacles, committed to comprehending the intricacies of the city's supply chain dynamics. I personally tried, going to AJ Tyler, but the operations manager was not there, thus I was unable to carry out the planned research. All the same, our combined efforts paid off, as Evangelina's interview at EROC yielded priceless information that helped us finish the project. We've come to a thorough knowledge of the potential and problems facing the supply chain and fleet services of the City of London, and as we wrap up our discussions, I'm proud of our teamwork.

As our group project comes to an end, I'm thinking back on the LDCSB research we did this term. Working with Group 9 has opened our eyes as we've explored the difficulties the LDCSB faces.
