Evaluate your devised piece (one paragraph) using the PDE format:

P: Point - Tell me what you think was effective
D: Describe - Describe what you chose to do on stage
E: Evaluate - Explain why this was so effective/ the impact on your audience.

Example:
Our devised piece was effective because of our use of cross-cutting. We chose to show events in a random order in order to create suspense for our audience. We began our piece at the moment where the destruction had hit and the zombies had attacked. We showed this by creating a still image using physical theatre to represent the rubble and ruins in the town. This was effective because the audience were immediately struck by the intensity of the image making them want to find out why such a tragedy has happened.

Due: Tuesday 20th September

HELP: To add your post:

- double click anywhere on this webpage
- write your name where it says 'title'
- type away!

I think our drama work good because we use our body to make the audience scare. I next to Fatima a and I use a lot of facial expression to show that we have turn to zombie i also straths my arms out to show I was catching someone this was effective because the audience will feel scare, frighted and something sad is going to happen.

How could this drama piece be improved?

Miss Griffiths says:
Good, Clene!
WWW: You have used a clear structure in your writing.
Target: Explain how you could develop this piece of drama in the future.
Literacy Target: Check your use of spelling.
Effort grade: 4

I think that our drama piece was good because we used facial expressions to show the audience what the characters were feeling and thinking. I think this was effective because it helps the audience understand the characters because if something bad was happening but the character's facial expression doesn't show any sign of fear it will make the audience think that this character is a very 'chilled out' person, giving the audience a little bit of 'background' information about the character.

How might you develop this piece of drama?

Miss Griffiths says:
WWW: You have described a successful part of your performance using drama vocabulary.
Target: Reflect on how your drama piece might be developed in the future.
Literacy Target: Use a full range of punctuation.
Effort grade: 4

I think the drama piece was effective because it helps me to understand more better and in the future i can do more different thinks. The most impotent thinks is that the audience likes it because if they don t like our act we wont be happy and we cant have a good grade. I chose to do on stage a character that is zombie because i like them, but my friends they deside to do a normal person it because i can do more better. It was affective and impact on audience because i like drama and i want that the audiences likes my performer. I think that my face expression was quiet scarry because this was my character and i but all my effort on this act.

Can you describe a key moment within your performance in detail?

Miss Griffiths says:
Good Hazera!
WWW: You have explained why certain drama skills are effective.
Target: Develop your description section by explaining what happened on stage in detail (see question above).
Literacy Target: Check your use of grammar (particularly with words such as effective).
Effort grade: 5

Fatuun Osman :In me and my groups role play we all used a range of different skills we learnt to make our role play effective,in my role play I was the victim so I had to use a lot of facial expressions and emotion to show the audience exactly how I felt , one other thing me and my group also used was cross cutting from the present into the past and to the futer this helped the adiuence understand what is going on and it is important for the audience to understand exactly what is going on so they do not feel confused and not understand what is being preformed in front of them one thing I think my group needed to work on was backing as we were not always facing the audience one thing I think I also need to work on is focusing on a range of different skills so my role plays can be the best it can be.

Our drama piece was effective because we used flashbacks and flash-forwards to add suspense to our piece. We did this by placing a flashback at a climatic moment to make the audience feel suspense and also to inform the audience of the both the cause and also the consequence of the zombie apocalypse.Putting the cross cutting in the middle of our piece was effective because it made the audience more involved in the plot of the story .

How? Can you be more specific?

Next time our group could improve by not blocking or backing and using the whole stage.

Miss Griffiths says:
Good, Alana!
WWW: You have used the PDE format to structure your writing and have explained in detail.
Target: Develop your evaluation section (see questions).
Literacy Target: Check your use of punctuation.
Effort grade: 4

I think that our drama piece was effective because we used facial expression and, this was effective because the audience could see our emotions while we were performing . What we chose to do on stage was we started with our first scene then we did a flashback , we used a flashback because it help the audience to understand our piece properly. We also use suspense , this was effective because was just waiting for something to happen. And that what made our piece good.

Why did you want to create this suspense?

I think our drama piece was good because we used slow motion to show the audience the
important parts of the play. When the zombies attaked they started killing people we did that in slow motion to make it stand out.The impact is that it forces the audience to see the death, feel the pain and see how scared the people are rather than just noticing the death and moving on to the next scene. This is effective because the audience are used to seeing things in normal speed so when something is slowed down it brings their focus to a higher level.

Why was this effective? What feeling/emotion were you trying to make them feel?

Miss Griffiths says:
Good, Thuraya!
WWW: You have used the PDE format to structure your writing.
Target: Develop your evaluation section (see questions).
Literacy Target: Check your use of punctuation.
Effort grade: 5

In my opinion our drama piece was quite effective because we used clear transitions to show that we were flash forwarding and flash backing. For example when we were flash forwarding we all used chorus by saying, 'tick tock' several times which showed the audience that the time was passing by. I feel like that was a good transition because it was clear to the audience as of what was happening.

What impact did this have on the audience?

I think our role play was good and effective as we had contact with our audience. For example we gave eye contact and we were reaching out to the audience in times of need.

Can you describe this moment in more detail?

This was especially effective as it made the audience feel sympathetic towards us, and hopefully wanted to make them help us.
