No one knew where the papers came from so they put the blame on Mangus because he is a magician. They thought he could make all these papers appear all perfectly identical. They later found out through Maria when  Fabrizio questioned her. Maria's family brought the Printing Press to Pregamontio, Italy. The family had to have taken orders to print these things about the King. When the Noblesmen, Primo Magistrato DeLaBina and Count Scarazoni, offered them to tell them what happened at the magic show with the return of money, they obviously took it. Giuseppe and Benito blurt too much and said too many things that they should've never said if they didn't want to get caught. Fabrizio found out from them that they told DeLaBina what happened at the magic show. It left people wondering as to who did it and why. Prince Cosimo comes back into play with this murder. His boots were red and after Fabrizio visited him all but one tiny spot of his shoes were red which meant he tried covering up for it. Additionally, when Fabrizio stood before the king, he saw the prince take his dagger and never return it. One night, he showed up at the Mangus's house and Fabrizio opened the door and he told Fabrizio that Mangus was in danger. He tried to help them all along. He was never the enemy. This helps with the murder of DeLaBina because Scarazoni was never after revenge, he always wanted to help even though  didn't seem like it. When Fabrizio was being put before the king, he looked at the prince thinking he would give him a chance to save him. The Prince took this action and thought Fabrizio was going to accuse him. Then he got taken in by Misstress Sophia and Master Mangus. He was basically a servant to the two. Until Mistress Sophia leaves and he has to take really good care of Master Mangus. Unfortunately, the " take really good care " part didn't really happen. He's always wanted to be a philosopher though. Mangus's life is steady and calm until he is accused for wanting to overthrow the king by making several of the exact same copies using his  "magic." He gave many signs to Fabrizio but since he is young, he didn't really know how to comprehend them. When Mistress Sophia needs to leave because her sister is sick, Fabrizio is ordered to take care of Master Mangus. All is well until flyers that all look identical to each other appear in town. No one knows how all of them are perfectly similar so they blame it on Mangus. They blame it on him because they think his magic did this. Fabrizio needs to help Mangus and find out who did this. Prince Cosimo? Who is unlikely to be thought of to overthrow his Father. Or Count Scarazoni? Who needs reason to understand. Fabrizio has to go through many obstacles that can throw him off but luckily, he makes the right decisions.
