         <description><![CDATA[<div>  Today in Jazz we mainly focused on performance and energy levels while learning and performing the routine. A <strong>strength </strong>for me in this session was my energy as I feel like I am naturally quite an energetic dancer anyways. I feel like I really need to focus on on performing as at the moment my performance skills are <strong>weakness</strong> for me and this is something I struggle with so I just need to work on this as a <strong>target</strong> and I need to work on how I can make my self look better while dancing.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>  We carried on with the routine today and learnt more. I need to make sure that I am getting every move right and I think that I need to be quicker at picking up steps so retaining material faster is now my <strong>target </strong>for jazz. However since having Jazz classes with Elise I feel like my turns have improved a lot and I would say that these were a <strong>strength </strong>for me in today’s class. I think a <strong>weakness </strong>from today’s session was my confidence when performing but I think that going over the material will help this improve naturally anyway.</div>]]></description>

I think that a <strong>strength </strong>of mine today was my knowledge of the choreography as I’m okay with knowing the basics.          <title>Workshop 9</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>       In today’s lesson we focused on making sure our kicks are turned out and that our placement is correct. Today I noticed that while I was doing this exercise when I kick sometimes my supporting leg doesn’t turn out as much so I am going to focus on this in future lessons as a <strong>target</strong>. I think that my coordination was a <strong>strength </strong>for me today while working on the routine. While doing the routine today Elise pointed out that we weren’t making the arms sharp and that we needed to make sure we were putting effort in to the placement of our arms and holding them so I feel that this was a <strong>weakness </strong>for me today. I felt like after Elise said this the routine felt a lot stronger as I was thinking about my arms a lot more. I need to carry on focusing on my performance when doing the routine and doing it full out.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we spent a lot of time on running the routine. We also marked through the material with the second years and Elise talked a lot about performance. I think that a <strong>strength</strong> for me today was that I was able to perform with my body but at the same time a <strong>weakness </strong>was my facial performance. My <strong>target </strong>is now to focus on my facial expressions when I’m dancing so that I can improve my overall performance.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Performance</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that a <strong>strength </strong>for me in today’s show was my performance throughout the two pieces. I think that I was really able to use my facial expressions while dancing to enchance my performance. I feel that a <strong>weakness </strong>for me and the other dancers was being in exact unison as I think that we could’ve danced more together. My <strong>target</strong> for my next jazz performance is to try harder to dance in unison with the over dancers. However, overall I am really pleased with how my performance went in both jazz pieces, river don’t flow and hero, and I think that I managed to contain the accuracy of the movement and still use my performance skills.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we started with a warm up and then went on to corner work with exercises such as kicks and pirouettes. In the kick exercise my feedback was to work on my feet being turned out as a <strong>target</strong>. Elise drew smiley faces on the insides of our feet so that this would draw our focus more to turning them out. I feel that a <strong>strength </strong>for me in my jazz class today was my ability to apply feedback because when Elise was correcting me I was able to apply my corrections. A <strong>weakness</strong> for me today was my confidence when dancing the exercises but I think that as I get used to them I’ll get more confident.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In today’s class a <strong>strength </strong>for me was my pirouettes from the corner as I feel like I was able to get the momentum to do a clean double pirouette but I was also able to keep the technical elements of a pirouette. A <strong>weakness </strong>for me in today’s class was my stamina as I felt that I was getting out of breath during corner work and I was getting sloppy towards the end of the exercises so now my new <strong>target </strong>to work on is practising the exercises to build my stamina.</div>]]></description>

The number is very upbeat and is quite energetic and has some complex movements involved. I think that a <strong>strength </strong>for me when dancing the movement was my jumps as I think that they looked good and were high. A <strong>weakness</strong> for me throughout the session was retaining material as I wasn’t picking it up as fast as some of the other dancers. My <strong>target </strong>is to go over the material so that Elise can move on quicker next week.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we started with the usual warm up, did exercises from the corner and technical exercises in the centre. Towards the end of the session we continued to work on the routine. A <strong>strength</strong> for me in our jump exercise from the corner was my flexibility in my jetés as I was nearly flat in them. My <strong>target </strong>for next session is to try and get my legs at equal height in my jetés as today my back leg was lower then my left. A <strong>weakness </strong>for me today was my use of performance skills as I felt like my face was too concentrated because I wasn’t one hundred percent confident with the movement but I think this will improve when the movement syncs in with my body.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today after class Ellie and I decided to go into the studio to go over material in the routine. I asked one of the second years Tom Jones to watch us and too give us some peer feedback. My feedback from Tom was to working on not watching Ellie and to try and be confident with the movement as a <strong>target</strong>. He said that my <strong>strength</strong> throughout the routine was my jumps and that my <strong>weakness</strong> was the accuracy of the movement in some parts as sometimes I don’t hold my head or my arms as much as I should.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In today’s class we worked on accuracy of the movement from the routine. I felt that this was a <strong>weakness </strong>for me as I am still ensure on some parts of the movement but I need to ask Elise and my peers more on specific details in order to improve. My <strong>target </strong>is to clean and work on the material so I need to go over certain sections of the choreography. A <strong>strength </strong>for me today was my energy when dancing the movement as I felt that my energy levels were high so i just need to keep this up throughout all of the class.<br>Below is a video of me and Jessie practicing the routine after class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today I asked Elise to help me find where I was going wrong with my pirouettes as recently I have been struggling to execute good pirouettes. She noticed that a <strong>weakness </strong>for me in the start of my pirouettes was that I was twisting my shoulders too much and in result I was giving to much force therefore I was falling out of them. My <strong>target </strong>that she gave me to work on was focusing on my shoulders before attempting to turn so that I wouldn’t over twist them. She said my <strong>strength </strong>was that my placement in the preparation and the turn was correct.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we talked about what we think we’ve improved since September. Personally I think that I’ve improved a significant amount throughout all of my classes since having Craig and Elise teach me in technique classes and I have had feedback of both of my teachers about this also. However I think that the main aspect of jazz that I have improved is my performance skills so this is a <strong>strength </strong>for me. I would also like to continue working on my performance skills as my <strong>target </strong>as I think I’ve still got a lot to learn and improve in regards to performance. A <strong>weakness </strong>for me and something that I would like to work on as another <strong>target </strong>is my confidence when performing the routine as I feel that my nerves and confidence hold me back a bit.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we started a jazz routine called ‘River Won’t Flow’. This piece doesn’t include complex choreography but is more performance based. A <strong>strength </strong>for me when learning this choreography was that I was able to pick it up quite quickly and that I was confident with the movement. A <strong>weakness </strong>for me was my use of facial expressions and my performance skills and therefore my <strong>target </strong>is too try and always perform even in the studio.</div>]]></description>
