For Our first week, We held our usrah in Jurjani and our first activities is ice breaking. We will introduce ourselves to get known each other and to streghten our ukhwah. After the ice breaking session, our Naqib, Br Anas play a good role in explaining us about Hikmah.

In Surah Al-Imran,verses 48;

وَيُعَلِّمُهُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَالتَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ

Dan Allah akan mengajarkan kepadanya Al Kitab, Hikmah, Taurat dan Injil.

Basically, Hikmah is really related with our lives. Anything that happen to us, whether it is a good or bad, anything is happen for a reason. It also can be used as a lesson for us in the future .

To be exact, Hikmah is an Arabic word that means wisdom, sagacity, philosophy, rationale or underlying reason. The Quran mentions "hikmah" in various places, where it is understood as knowledge and understanding of the Quran, fear of God, and a means of nourishing the spirit or intellect.

Therefore, this topic though me that everything that is happen has a meaning. I could manage my decision making efficiency due to the understanding of this topic.

For the second week , the topic is about Reason and Sources of Hikmah from Ibadah.

The ibadah can be defined as perform the duties of a servant as does a slave or bondsman. A person is a slave of somebody only if he lives his whole life rendering service and obedience to him and behaves as one should behave to his master. But a person who is supposedly a servant and is being paid for his work but who does not render his master service and obedience as a slave ought, is guilty of disloyalty and rebellion.

Other than that, Every act of worship has a wisdom(Hikmah) as well as everything Allah forbids. By performing prayer, we could avoid wrongdoing and bad behaviour. It has explain in Surah Al-Ankabut verses 45

Prayer could prevent munkar. There are term that Allah could accept our prayer which are Islam, knowledge, Ikhlas, Iktibaq

Other ibadah also is fasting or sawm is to attain taqwa. It's to protect yourself from punishment by avoiding his prohibitions and implementing his commands.

It could help us in controling our nafs and desires.

For the fourth week, Our topic is about the Virtues found in Salah With Khusyuk.

Khushūʿ enhances your understanding of the essence of ṣalāh.

Praying with khushūʿ leads you to realising and appreciating the true meaning of ṣalāh, namely the turning of the heart and the body towards Allah, and attaining closeness to Him by it.

Khushūʿ is the key to attaining closeness to Allah

Khushūʿ in ṣalāh gives you the pleasure of conversing with Allah. It increases your faith, softens your heart, distances you from the world, and makes you long for Allah and His closeness in the hereafter.

Khushūʿ in ṣalāh will ease the standing in front of Allah on the Day of Judgement

Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) wrote, “The slave of Allah stands in front of his Lord on two occasions: the first is when he stands in his ṣalāh and the second is when he will meet Him on the Day of Judgment. Whoever fulfils the rights of the first standing, the second standing will be made easy for him. And whoever belittles, neglects and does not fulfil the rights of the first standing (i.e. ṣalāh), the second standing will be made very difficult for him.”

Khushūʿ in ṣalāh solves your problems and removes anxiety

Allah says, “And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for those who have khushūʿ; those who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him” (2:45-6).

Similarly, Ḥudhayfah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated, “Whenever anything distressed the Prophet ﷺ, he would pray” (Abū Dāwūd). Turning to prayer at times of difficulty was also the practice of the previous Prophets (Aḥmad).

“Shayṭan will not go near the person whose heart has khushūʿ.” – Sahl al-Tustarī (raḥimahullāh)

As cases of depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses rise, let us return to the prophetic remedy of resorting to ṣalāh. In addition to other forms of precautions and remedies, we should not underestimate the strength and healing power of ṣalāh.

8. Khushūʿ is the source of strength in your daily activities

Praying ṣalāh with khushūʿ will give you strength, enthusiasm and barakah (blessings) in your other daily activities. (See Q2:45 above). It will be your inspiration and the fuel in your journey to serve Allah and His religion.

“Let not your concern be the quantity of your actions. Rather, worry about perfecting them and doing them well; for a slave may be praying, but he is disobeying Allah in his ṣalāh.” – Wuhayb b. al-Ward (raḥimahullāh)

For the next usrah, our topic given is about the virtues found in Sawm also known as fasting.

Fasting or sawm is the practice of abstaining, usually from food, drink, smoking, sexual activity and anything which substitutes food and drink. During the holy month of Ramadan, sawm is observed between dawn and nightfall when the adhan of the Maghrib prayer is sounded.

The first virtues is a shield protects the servant from the fire.Every good deed is rewarded with ten of the same up to seven hundred times over. Fasting is a shield from the Fire. The smell coming from the mouth of the one fasting is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk.

Among the virtues is that the smell of the fasting person’s mouth – which is the smell coming from his mouth as a result of the stomach being empty of food – is more pleasant to Allah Almighty than the smell of musk. Because it is one of the effects of worship and obedience, and it is evidence of the greatness of fasting with Allah.

The second virtues is it breaks the eruption of desire and tames it, so the Prophet, peace, and blessings are upon him, instructing young people who cannot marry, to seek help from fasting to be a restraint (Wija).
* Waja’ has been translated freely above. It means castration.

The Messenger (PBUH) stated that there is nothing like fasting that brings a servant closer to his Lord Almighty. And the Prophet (PBUH) stated that there is a gate in Paradise for those who fast. None else will enter through it.

There is a gate which is called Ar-Raiyan, through which only those who observe Saum (fasting) will enter on the Day of Resurrection. It was also reported that fasting would intercede for its owner on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting is one of the greatest reasons for the forgiveness of sins and expiation of sins.

The third virtues is Fasting helps you erase sins and expiate sins. Rayyan’s Gate is one of the Paradise (Jannah) gates that only the fasting person can enter. Fasting is one of the reasons for supplication being answered.

the fourth virtues is Fasting is one of the acts of worship where the believer gets used to being patient in obeying Allah. So he stays away from what he has forbidden, abandons his desires, and thus gets used to self-control. Fasting helps to overcome the self that is inclined to evil and the whispers of Satan. Thanking Allah’s grace, the fasting person feels the blessings of Allah upon him and therefore thanks him for it. Fasting is a manifestation of the unity of Muslims. Fasting helps to form a personality that is willing to do good, sympathetic to those around us, offering to help and meeting needs. Fasting is one of the acts of worship whose reward Allah has hidden.

For the sixth week, our topic for usrah is about the virtues found in Zakah or Sadaqah

Zakah is a mandatory process for muslims and is regarded as a form of worship. It is one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat ensures that individuals who are helpless, lacking basic necessities are protected from things such as hunger.

The importance of paying Zakat reinforces the key idea that the wealth we are blessed with does not belong to us solely, it is a blessing from Allah SWT that must be shared.

Sadaqah is voluntary offering, whose amount is at the will of the benefactor. It is similar to zakat, or compulsory giving, one of the five pillars of Islam.

The virtues is found are

Tawakkul ( Reliance of Allah)

Tawakkul is a key teaching of Islam. The number of Quranic verses and hadiths that speak about it signifies its importance. Also, there are no books written by Muslim scholars from the past till today on Akhlaq (Etiquettes), an important aspect of Islam, that do not contain a chapter on tawakkul.

One of many pieces of evidence on the importance of tawakkul in Islam is the fact that Allah s.w.t. revealed it as a path to His love and those who uphold it consistently are His beloved servants.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُتَوَكِّلينَ

Surely, Allah loves those who place their trust in Him

(Surah A’li-’Imran, 3:159)

Ukhuwwah (Brotherhood)

Ukhuwwah means love, friendship, bond, and brotherhood. It is the brotherhood established for the sake of Allah without expecting anything in return. The bond of brotherhood among fellow Muslims is far more precious than the brotherhood in a family. Those who form this sort of a brotherhood, love and care for each other without expecting anything in return. They consult each other about their affairs and seek solutions for their difficulties and problems together. If they do not see each other for a few days, they contact each other and if anyone of them is in need, they help and support one another. If any one of them dies, they pray for the deceased by gifting the rewards of some righteous deeds onto their souls. They console the hearts of the orphans survived by them, by giving them gifts and treating them kindly.

Rasûlullâh (Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam) declared brotherhood between each of the noble Muhajirin (immigrant Muslim from Makkah) and the noble Ansar (Helpers).
