-Without the personal drive to go out and search for political news, people are less likely to be knowledgable on the topic. People often forget information the they are not particularly interested in.

- The people that are constantly following politics are able to see how certain laws and policies will shape their lives and how to manipulate them to benefit themselves. They are more informed on what to vote for.

- There used to be a time when there were only a few channels available. With the increasing channels and technology, there are so many other options that people tend to choose. Interests have shifted away from politics and more towards other distractions. 
- The youth today has a lesser chance of following politics because it is harder to find the information with all the other intriguing topics out there.
