I read an article about The Warehouse recently about how they parallel import brand name products and the fact they have done so for a long time but never really publicised it. It was often just chance if you came across a brand name being sold there for a good price. Now they have created a definite section called the Red Rack which showcases these items. They have changed the way these items are marketed and have employed a specific purchaser for these products. This change may succeed in drawing a different set of customers to the shops and help to change the image of The Warehouse from being a cheap retail outlet to a higher quality provider. They still stock the alternative lower quality and priced items so will not lose the customers who shop there for that reason. If they don't incorporate changes like this they may see sales drop as more cheaper end shops open up.

Companies such as Microsoft and Apple. Apple has undergone massive changes through out the last decade, and has succeeded tremendously. Microsoft has lagged behind in their innovativeness and the brand has therefore suffered. While they may be beginning to catch up, Apple was a front runner for a long time, and will take a great deal to surpass it.

A business I was working for had to consider upgrading a monitoring system to the a new and improved system. If they did not consider the change, the current system was slowing down the way in which we responded to alarms and was slowly shutting itself down. So, change was a must. Although they had to spend money on the new system as well as training up staff ,the results of this changed improved dramatically.
