Rome introduced representative democracy. Representative democracy is when instead of voting for laws themself (citizens). Citizens vote for people that match their beliefs and morals. The Roman Republic had 3 branches, all 3 branches were balanced and they regularly had checks. Rome influenced the U.S constitution and U.S Bill of Rights. I think Rome is a huge influence on U.S government, representative democracy plays a big part of our government.

The Magna Carta is a government document written in 1215, the purpose of this document was to limit the kings power. Also for laws and punishment to be fair, I think the Magna Carta is influential because it introduces new concepts not seen before or rarely seen before. The Magna Carta introduced limited government, rule of law, and due process. All of which is included in the U.S constitution. The Magna Carta is the first document to state that citizens had such right and was later used as a symbol and later referenced in other british documents.

The English Bill of Rights was a government document written in 1689. It expanded the rights of the parliament and the people. Dating back to the Magna Carta, it limited the kings power. The Englishmen demanded "No excessive bails or fines or cruel and unusual punishments." The English Bill of Rights encouraged a form a government where the rights and liberties of individuals were protected, making it very influential.
