We’re all shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy that has happened in the school. We cannot imagine how traumatic it must be for the principals, teachers and students of River Valley, whether past or present, and their families. 

While we cannot comprehend why this has happened, please know that we are praying for you. We are grieving with you over the sudden loss of lives, one way or another. 

To the teachers and classmates of the boys, it’s hard to see the empty spaces day in and out. We want you to know that you’re being prayed and cared for, and we have hope for a better tomorrow. 

To the affected families, it’s a confusing and devastating time. But the community is standing with you — no judgment, no ostracising, no hate. We’re thinking of you and cannot truly fathom what you’re going through. But what our country needs right now is a whole lot of support, encourage and love to stand together. So we will continue to do that for you.

Praying for peace and comfort to be upon every single person part of the RV family.

We can only begin to imagine how traumatic this is for you. No matter how much noise there is on the internet, know that there are many grieving with you and many more cheering you on.

I can imagine the grief and pain that all of you at RVHS are going through. You are never alone, please be there for one another during such difficult times. Grief is inevitable, stay strong… time will heal and brighter days will come. Take care ❤️.

My deepest condolence to the bereaved loved ones of the boy. He is in my prayer, have faith that God will bless and take good care of him. Amen.

My heartache goes to the other boy and his loved ones. He has been struggling with immeasurable pain at such a tender age, probably not most of us can comprehend. May God lead and bless him to recover well, give him a chance to relive his life in many good ways, considering his young age and mental health. While we are grief-stricken, the young boy may be going through suffocating pain indefinitely.

RV has been my home for 6 years, a space that holds my best memories and my defining moments in my formative years. I've met the kindest friends and the best teachers - these are all irreplaceable and I hold them closely with my heart. 

To my juniors, I send you all the love in the days ahead trying to make sense of things or trying to grapple with your feelings. How you feel is valid and please know that you are loved and in the thoughts of many. Reach out for support when needed and seek comfort in one another. RV will still be a home and with time, I pray you will emerge stronger.

To the school leaders and teachers, days ahead may not be the easiest but thank you, thank you for all that you do despite going through a whirlwind of emotions yourselves. Please take all the time to recover from this incident. Take care of yourselves and remember that you are only human. 

May the boy rest in peace knowing that he is loved tremendously. I send my condolence to his loved ones.

For the young students, please know that any setback u face is only temporary. For someone has graduated more than 20 years ago, I have known (and personally experienced) many who failed (a subject/a year etc.) but gone on to have personal and professional success. Most importantly, life has much else to offer besides that. Keep looking for what makes you happy in this life.

it’s hard to understand and accept what happened. 

it’s hard to acknowledge that it was so close to us. 

and it’s definitely hard to process what we are feeling.

moving forward is a difficult thing for many of us. this incident may or may not have affected you directly, however, in this tough time, know that your friends and teachers are here for you.

the publication of this news on social media inevitably meant that insensitive comments were left. it was extremely heartwarming and comforting to see the RV spirit prevail through very difficult times, as RVians and alumni stood up against such remarks, and requested privacy. 

to the teachers and staff of RV, 

thank you for staying strong, supporting us, listening to us, and understanding what we are going through. things are not easy for you as well. know that RVians care, and are thinking of you. 

to the family of the deceased, 

we grieve with you, and we send our deepest condolences. may he fly high, and rest in peace.

I understand that it has been a tough time for all of you, and we feel for you. We share your grief and sadness, and while it takes time to heal, if you ever feel too burdened, you can always approach the people around you for help. Together, you can get through this together, and remember that you are not alone. 

I really hope that you will stay strong, stay brave, and stay resilient no matter how affected you may be. It is ok for your emotions to take control of you at times, but don’t forget that we are all there for you, even in the darkest of times.
