Technological advancements may lead to the enslavement or control of mankind when put to extreme use. In Aldous Huxley's Brave New World the entire Society is based off of technological advancements. This includes the complete controlment of making human beings through Bokanovansky's process and hypnopaedic, a process of conditioning information into a person through sleep. with these new advancements the World State is able to practically choose a person's future. This includes their job, place in society, and their happiness. Though, of course, everybody is happy. This is only because each person has been conditioned to love their lives since their birth. It is the State's whole plan to keep civilization happy, even though every single one of them is being oppressed. Some more than others . Additionally, society is inevitably divided into groups with specialized functions. A caste system: Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. It is true that in every world people are different in terms of their economic success. In order for society to function properly there will always be a group of people generally very small at the top with an immense amount of power and wealth. Then there is a group of people who are not as successful, but almost content with their life and their function in society. And at the bottom, there are the people who do all of the work the people in the first two groups would not do. They are not successful and surely not as happy. However, their functions in society are much needed and they cannot be replaced. they might not be as important as the individuals in the first group, but as a whole, they are essential to society.

Individual happiness is defined as the ability to satisfy needs, and success and is defined by social stability and prosperity. In Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, it is the World State's priority to keep the happiness and prosperity of civilization. However, the only definition to their happiness is taking soma-holidays and having erotic play. Revolving around being artificially happy, though. In their dystopian society, needs are satisfied in all kinds of ways. For their sexual pleasure, it is very common and highly encouraged for every one to have a different person every night. Additionally, there are entertainment like watching a feelie with a scent organ, an occasional orgy-porgy, trips to reservations, etc. Technology and medications have allowed society to obtain their version of bliss whilst staying youthful for the rest of their lives. Their happiness is defined by their ability to have all the Technologies and medicines they please. As for their society's success, the State is only worried about keeping civilization happy with social stability and prosperity in all terms. Their social stability revolves around keeping the people conditioned and content with their lives. When everybody is happy with their lives, they complete their functions in society. The conditioning is what creates loss of self and identity for some like Bernard and Helmholtz. When John the savage realizes he wants freedom and as far from civilization as possible, it shows a want for individuality and personality. Today in modern times, technology and identity play a big part as aspects in our society. As technology advances, more impossible things become possible. Children are reproduced through DNA, surrogacy, and many more. Smart devices and machinery keep us entertained, even young kids from what is generally the youngest at 3, and medicine has enabled operations and treatments that can change one's life. Drugs being one that get utilized for a sense of happiness similarly to soma. Identity as well, is similar. Some are followers and stick with their cliques so much that they seem like copy-paste versions of themselves, and some are their own self leaders which make them individualistic and their own. Some even don't know or don't associate with identity. Overall, I believe any social sort of caste system has derailed within the last decade. We don't make certain sacrifices for social stability I think as much because people are voicing their opinions more - even younger generations. Pleasure is not conditioned or controlled, I find it to be very unique to their own and care-free. And finally entertainment is seemingly becoming self-centered and passive especially with social platforms and social media but generally is resourceful as a distraction.
