On Valentine's Day, women and girls give men and boys malt, especially chocolate. The Japanese respect that only sweet chocolate can convey the power of love. The most sacred thing in Japan appeared after Another World War. If we compare this sacredly with the Ukrainian one, then in Japan girls report more effort than boys. So, the girl herself is responsible for preparing chocolate chips for the cat and giving them as a gift. When it is important, you should give your godfather another gift on this day; you will have to eat him with dark chocolate or zucchini. This tradition began with one businessman, who released a lot of chocolate malts with a heart with the inscription - 14 years old - before Valentine's Day. In Japan, it is sacred for the dead to celebrate the 14th of Birth - White Day. Here the boys sacredly give the girls white chocolate and other confectionery products. On Valentine's Day, Japanese women give their men chocolate, and there are two types of malt: giri-choco, which they give to friends, colleagues and relatives. This gift does not have a loving connotation, and is taken as affection.

In Italy, where Valentine's Day is said to have started, it was called the Day of Spring and Love. People celebrated outdoors, walking and sharing their love all day long. For example, in Turin, engaged couples announced their engagement on Valentine's Day - a tradition still followed today.

Before the holiday, Italian shops fill up with lots of sweets. It's common to give sweet candies to show love - the more candies, the stronger the love is believed to be. That's why lovers often talk about a sweet period in their relationships when love is overflowing. On this day, couples usually have romantic dinners in restaurants or pizzerias. Along with candies, they give roses, perfumes, chocolates, and sometimes diamonds.

Another popular gift in Italy is Baci Perugina - small chocolates with hazelnuts covered in chocolate. Each candy has a note with a love message inside.

In celebrating Valentine's Day, the Japanese differ from others: they celebrate in two stages - first on February 14, and then on March 14. In Japan, only girls present gifts on February 14. And only chocolate is used as gifts. Only one thing is required from men on this day: to accept sweets and greetings. Chocolate gifts in them are divided into two types: "chocolate of debt" and "chocolate of deep affection". It is clear from the name that girls give the first type of chocolate to all the men they know, to whom they want to demonstrate their good attitude. These gifts don't carry any romantic message and are made out of kindness and, in fact, a sense of duty. Girls give the second type of chocolate to their significant others. It is customary to make such chocolate yourself, decorate it beautifully and pack it in an unusual way. Men have a month to prepare a suitable gift. On March 14, the Japanese celebrate the so-called White Day - a day when all men give girls sweets and desserts made of white chocolate. When it comes to gifts, the Japanese are very meticulous: if they received something as a gift, they must prepare something in return, but it must be more and more expensive than what they received themselves. Therefore, men on this day are not limited to sweets and desserts, but give jewelry and other valuable gifts.
