  • Mature river definition: a river that is less steep than youthful rivers and flows more slowly. A mature river is normally connected to many tributaries. It's channels erode wider than deeper.
  • Example of a river: Liffey
  • The current of the river no longer has the force to carry stones or gravel. The load is dropped to the river bed.
  • The River Cuckmere has a meander and it is in Ireland 
  • A meander is a curve or bend in a river. It is formed by erosion, transportation and deposition. It is formed when load (more likely sand, gravel ,pebbles) hits against the outer side of bank which is the result of hydraulic action and abrasion. It is the deposited on the inner side. Erosion causes the outer side to become wider and wider.
