Anthropocentric reformism is a philosophical and ideological approach to addressing environmental and societal concerns that prioritizes human interests, well-being, and values. It recognizes humans as an important aspect of the environment and argues for changes and activities that emphasize human wellbeing and progress while simultaneously taking
environmental sustainability into account. Anthropocentric reformism stresses the importance of human well-being, rights, and aspirations in policy formation and decision-making. Its goal is to increase human well-being through social, economic, and political reforms. While emphasizing human concerns, anthropocentric reformism recognizes the importance of sustainable environmental practices in ensuring that current and future generations can achieve their requirements. It promotes resource management that is appropriate, pollution control, and conservation activities. Moreover, it strives for growth that helps both humans and the environment by striking a balance between economic development and environmental protection. Adopting green technologies, sustainable development techniques, and renewable energy sources may be part of this. 

This philosophy resonates with me and my principles because anthropocentric reformism provides a paradigm for attaining balanced progress by fulfilling human wants and desires while protecting the environment. It tries to prevent resource exploitation, which could lead to ecological imbalances and a reduced quality of life. Anthropocentric reformism ensures that future generations have access to critical resources and a habitable environment by implementing sustainable practices. Furthermore, this strategy encourages long-term thinking and planning, with the goal of achieving a sustainable future. Prioritizing human well-being and ensuring equal distribution of benefits corresponds with social justice values. Anthropocentric reformism works to close gaps and guarantee that progress benefits all members of society. A more human-centered approach garners more public support and participation. People are more likely to support policies that prioritize their well-being and provide visible benefits to their lives, encouraging active involvement and regulatory compliance. Because it recognizes the relevance of human interests, anthropocentric reformism provides pragmatic solutions that are more likely to be accepted and implemented. It recognizes the realities of human communities and economy while seeking good change. Overall, anthropocentric reformism strives to achieve a balance between human demands and environmental sustainability, with the goal of creating a society in which human growth and ecological health may coexist together.

Social ecologists explore hierarchy and domination in culture, and ecofeminists criticize the patriarchy in these hierarchies (Kheel, 1991). It also explains why culture is both the problem and the solution, both the curse and the hope.

As a rational and observant human being in this world, I consider that every action has a repercussion. It's more of a cause and effect situation. In this light, I believe that ecological problems stem from social problems. In this way, we could see how large-scale social structures of contemporary capitalist governments are intrinsically linked to the existence of unfair, hierarchical relationships in human society, which they perceive as the root cause of environmental degradation. They contend that small-scale, decentralized communities and production systems are the most environmentally friendly type of political and social organization.

Moreover, Ecofeminism is of the most significant environmental philosophy because it offers a unique viewpoint on the human-nature interaction. It encourages us to consider the environmental consequences of our activities as well as the needs of all living creatures.

Ecofeminism, I believe, is indeed an essential environmental concept because it forces us to reconsider our connection with the natural world. It reminds us that we are not apart from nature, but rather a part of it. It also encourages us to consider the long-term effects of our activities as well as the needs of all living beings.

Deep ecology fits with my personal values and views, hence I chose it as my environmental philosophy to tackle. Whether or not they are beneficial to humans, I think all living things have intrinsic value. Furthermore, I think it is our duty to preserve and care for the natural world, not just for our personal benefit but also for the benefit of all other living beings.

The philosophy of deep ecology is difficult, yet it is also motivating. It challenges us to reconsider how we interact with the natural world and to take steps to ensure a more sustainable future for all. For further allusion, deep ecology is based on the following principles: (1) The well-being and flourishing of human and non-human life have value. (2) Richness and diversity of life forms contribute to the realization of these values and are also values in themselves. (3) Humans have no right to reduce this richness and diversity except to satisfy vital needs. (4) The flourishing of human life and cultures is compatible with a substantial decrease in the human population. (5) Present human interference with the non-human world is excessive, and the situation is rapidly worsening. Policies must therefore be changed.

Consequently, Deep ecology, in my opinion, is critical for tackling today's environmental concerns. Climate change, pollution, and deforestation are all interrelated issues that cannot be addressed separately. We must take a comprehensive approach to environmental conservation that considers the well-being of all living creatures. Alongside with this, deep ecology also calls into question the anthropocentric belief that humans are the most significant species on the planet. This viewpoint has resulted in the exploitation and devastation of nature. Deep ecology evokes us that we are all part of a bigger ecosystem and that we must conserve and care for it. Circles us to the concept of how this environmental philosophy can help us create a more sustainable future for everybody-- a philosophy founded on the value of all life, compassion, and interdependence.

The relationship between people and the natural world is demonstrated. I have always believed that we can achieve stability since doing so will make human behavior more sustainable. We can raise awareness of our consumption behavior and recognize the effects we have on the environment. All living creatures should be connected to one another, and we should be able to respect them. As humans, being the highest form of life, we should be responsible for taking care of and rebuilding the damages we caused.

Among all the environmental philosophies, I would prefer Anthropocentric reformism because it simply serves to demonstrate that humans are the only animals capable of flexible mass cooperation in this planet.

We frequently look for individual differences between ourselves and other animals. We want to think that there is something unique about the human body or brain that makes every single person significantly more intelligent than a dog, a pig, or a chimpanzee. However, the truth is that when compared to chimps, humans are shamefully similar. If you put a chimpanzee and I on a deserted island together to test who survives longer, I'd wager on the chimp.

On a communal level, we humans and other animals really diverge. Only Homo sapiens are capable of cooperating in myriad different ways with strangers. We can make up stories, disseminate them around, and persuade millions of strangers to believe them, so we can work with many strangers.

To conclude, while any remaining creatures live in an objective universe of waterways, trees and lions, we people live in double world. Indeed, there are streams, trees and lions in our reality. In any case, on top of that objective reality, we have built a second layer of pretend reality, containing fictitious substances.

Biocentrism, unlike anthropocentrism, does not regard humans as superior to other species. It rather states that all living beings have inherent value and should thus be morally considered. From this vantage point, I support biocentrism, which holds that all living things are equal, regardless of the extent of their impact on the environment. 

As a stance in environmental ethics that broadens the scope of morality far beyond traditional ethics to include all living creatures, it approaches all living beings with awe and humility that can help make human life more meaningful. Biocentric ethics aids in the development of a set of habits and attitudes that humans use when interacting with other living beings, emphasizing the importance of animals, plants, and other organisms. 

Therefore, I believe and support the idea that all living things have an instinct to survive and keep the wholeness of life (Sarkar, 2012). Living by this notion, we support the preservation of biodiversity, animal rights, and the protection of the environment. 

 

But first, what is Ecocentrism? It is an idea that represents everything in the natural world has its own intrinsic value and deserves moral consideration (Water Security, 2020).

 

I prefer ecocentrism mainly because it broadens the moral community and ethics away from being only about ourselves and encourages us to show respect and care for all life, including ecosystems. Furthermore, it serves as a reminder that all life is interdependent and that both humans and nonhumans are completely reliant on the ecosystem processes that nature provides.

 

Ecocentrism is the key to sustainable natural resources since it provides more long-term and future benefits to the natural environment. As a result, more emphasis should be placed by academics on the sustainable use of natural resources, not only for the present generation but also for future generations.

Anthropocentrism is the belief that humans are the most important or central entities on Earth. Anthropocentrically, all creatures and objects have value only insofar as they aid in human existence and pleasure (Coffey, 2022). 

I wanted this philosophy because I am convinced that we--humans--are the most dominant superior beings on this earth since we can think and act. As a result, we must be accountable for its proper upkeep.

Upholding this mentality, I now sincerely believe that we, as Earth's guardians, should safeguard our actions while preserving the environment for the betterment of ourselves and the planet.

As a steward of God's creation, I chose environmental ethics because it teaches us the importance of nature and teaches us to respect all kinds of life, not just human life. Our stewardship of creation demonstrates our love for the Creator. We have an obligation to protect the environment. This includes not polluting the environment, reducing waste, and saving resources.

We are called to care for the environment, particularly the air, water, and land, as well as the minerals, plants, and creatures that make up our wonderful globe and whatever lies beyond. Environmental ethics emphasizes respect for all life forms and advocates sustainable activities to guarantee the well-being of our planet for future generations.

Ultimately, all creation is excellent, and it is our job to cherish, nourish, cultivate, and freely share everything that exists.
