As long as media companies have that financial incentive, they'll keep distorting the facts to stir up drama and resentment. 

I think entertainment journalism lies in this liminal space between "news/features," which is all objective, hard facts reporting, and "opinion," which is obviously subjective. That makes it so much harder to determine when a line has been crossed, and whether someone is undermining journalistic integrity.

Media companies should be aware of how their journalists are getting their information and the governemnt should step in if anything goes agaisnt the laws. Consumers should also keep in check media companies from going too far.
