A scrape where the top layer of skin is rubbed off, often from the a fall.

Initial Care: Wash Hands, wear gloves, clean gently with soap and water, apply antibiotic ointment, cover with a bandage.

Post Care: Change bandage daily or when dirty, watch for redness or pus. Usually doesn't need medical referral large or very dirty

A deep cut or tear in the skin caused by a sharp object

Initial Care: Wear gloves, stop bleeding with clean glaze, clean gently, apply antibiotic ointment.

Post Care: May need stiches if deep. Keep covered and clean, see a doctor if bleeding doesn't stop.

Initial Care: Keep wound clean and dry, cover with sterile gauze.

Post Care: Follow medical directions for bandage changes, watch for redness or drainage, stiches/staples removed by healthcare provider
