         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the mid-1700´s Tokugawa Japan had the biggest town in the world. Edo had Over 1 million people lived there. Many of the cultural traditions included tales of ancient warriors, paintings of scenes from classic literature. As well as newly found traditions such as haiku, a 5-7-5 syllable poem and new stories that told the lives of merchants and the hardship of life.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1549 the Christians first arrived in Japan.  Japan accepted them due to their want for European goods. However the Christians had something different in mind. They came to convert the japanese to Christian. The Christians had much success with converting the people. Which made Tokugawa mad. So he banned Christianity. Even though he banned Christianity it still lingered through japan. So the people of Japan were forced to practice some branch of Buddhism.</div>]]></description>
