There are companies in Qatar that provide free cages for recyclable materials which are then collected two or four times a month for a fee. If every student donates 1 qar a month, we are more than covered for this fee. Everyone then could bring their plastic or paper collection from home to empty in our recycling cages. It's best to start young by constantly talking of the environment, climate change and what we can do to help. It has to become part of their every day school learning. 1. Turn the lights off when not in use.
2. Reduce use of polythene.  Take your own bags when going shopping. Take your own cloth pouches for buying fruits and vegetables. 
3. Use serviettes at home and in school instead of tissue papers.
4. Be reasonable with water usage in the wash. 
5. Encourage air-drying of hands instead of pulling out a tonne of tissue for drying the hands after every wash. 
6. Encourage recycling of electronic waste, paper/cartons, toys and cloths by talking about it and giving out information regarding the recycling centres and charities. 
7. Have a toy library, thus encouraging children to 'exchange' or 'borrow' toys instead of buying new ones. 
8. Encourage children to take these ideas back to their families.
