I read Bud not Buddy. The author is Christopher Paul Curtis. The story took place in Flint, Michigan during the Great depression. The author did a great job of making me feel like I was in the story because he used rich details. Bud Caldwell is the main character. In my opinion Bud is a believable character. He is a foster kid and I have personally been around foster kids. The author did a great job describing Bud in the story.  While I was reading the book I could visualize Bud.

      I have read many books about adventures but none like Bud not Buddy.  I felt sorry for Bud because throughout the book he was abused and mistreated. He had to struggle to survive every day.  I would recommend this book because it is a great story about overcoming obstacles.  I give this book a thumbs up because it makes you feel a variety of ways. It makes you feel happy, sad, and most of all grateful for what you have.

I thought the book Bud not Buddy was very interesting. The main character was Bud. He was extremely brave. He went on a journey to find his dad. On this journey Bud showed how determined and resourceful he was.

     In this story Bud was often mistreated. There were times when he was homeless. He was also weak from the lack of food. Even though Bud experienced hard times he was still kind.  His determination and persistence paid off in the end.
