It is celebrated mainly on the 1st and 2nd of November, coinciding with the Catholic celebrations of the Day of the Faithful and All Saints.

The altar of the dead, also known as the Day of the Dead offering, is a fundamental element in the set of Mexican traditions of the Day of the Dead, which consists of installing domestic altars in honor of the dead.

Basic elements of the "OFRE DA"

Water: Source of life that is offered to the souls of the deceased to quench their thirst after the long journey they had to make.

Salt: This is an element of purification.

Candles They light the way for the souls of our loved ones to find their old homes.

Copal: used to clean the place of evil spirits and so the soul can enter your home without any danger.

Flowers: They decorate and aromatize the place during the stay of the soul, which when leaving will be happy.

The mat: On this particular day it works so that the souls rest, as well as a tablecloth to place the food of the offering.

This year we did not put an offering in my house because we would not be in the city so we put it in Hidalgo, where we spent the weekend.
