I was quite nervous as the compeptition consisted of a total of 147 golfers and it was my first time experiencing a golf competition outiside singapore. On the first competition day, we played 18-holes to warm up and familiarise with the course before enterning the two days competition. On this day, I focused on consistancy to ensure my practice shots on the driving range mirrors my shots during 18 holes, as well as that, I focused on improving and perfecting my short game as its most crucial in achieving a good score.

What are you most excited about?

I am excited about travelling overseas in a plane and meeting new people across dover, east, grade 9's and 10's. I'm also excited to explore the Chinese culture and try the different cuisines and experience the shows.

What challenges do you think you'll face?

I think climbing on the rock walls in the current cold temperatures in China would be a challenge, as I am not too experienced at climbing, unlike my peers.

How do you plan to work as a team?

I plan to work as a team by encouraging each other to reach their full potential when climbing the rock walls as well as when we are hiking and climbing a mountain in 9 degrees.

During the first day of the China Climb Expedition, we were introduced to high rope climbing in Guilin, Yangshuo and the required techniques and skills that comes with it. This day was significantly challenging for me as it was my first time climbing outdoors in a cold temperature of around 9 degrees, along with the fact that I was not familiar with the majority of my peers as they were dover students or 10th graders. By working towards my goal of exploring the yangshuo climbing culture, I attempted to climb my first wall. Although it was difficult, I was able to navigate my way to the very top of the wall with the support of the chinese instrucutors and my peers. After climbing my first wall, I countinued to support and cheer on other students whom never experienced climbing outdoors before.
