In 2019, the United States had the largest number of immigrants who arrived in the south border, immigrants who were looking for assylum. These immigrants traveled through Mexico from their home nations, looking for a better quality of life, a better work and safety that couldn't be provided in their country..

APA:
Bernat, F.

77% of immigrants are in the US legally, so no, most immigrants are here legally.
I do not have an opinion on it. It is not a true statement.
The myth comes from political divide and the spreading of the truth. The right will want you to believe that most are illegal, and the left will want you to believe its false.
No one directly benefits from this myth, rather, people who benefit from the belief of this myth are those who want stricter border control and more regulation on who comes in and out of our country.

immigrants take good jobs from U.S citizens

I'm not entirely sure that immigrants would be taking 'good jobs' from U.S citizens. This statement is way to broad. For example if you are referring to illegal immigrants, the chance of them having a degree and being able to become an attorney for example are honestly pretty low. But immigrants who are educated and have a degree could become an attorney, and it is an EQUAL race to get there in our society. U.S citizens are just as capable of earning a living as immigrants are, No one is stealing any one person's jobs, just some are faster to get to it. You have to take into account low income areas and that it is hard to gauge that someone living in east Detroit would have a harder time than in immigrant. Again, wings striving for favor over common issues. No one benefits from the myth, certain people benefit from the belief of the myth.

The numbers of immigrants in the U.S has quadrupled since 1970 and is now 13.6% of the country's population, therefore they can not be "taking" jobs away due to the short amount of population they make compared with the amount of jobs.
