Because of his daughter, he plays music again. This wakes Frankie up and makes him realize just how much he loves strumming notes on his guitar. Kai encourages Frankie to go out and display his talents. This leads to Frankie teaching guitar lessons. When Kai is accepted into a prestigious music school, Frankie is extremely proud. Classic rock genres have always interested me, and this book featured many famous musicians. The book did not focus on one decade of musicians, there were five decades of musicians that were featured in the novel. The adventure that Frankie went through to get to the present location where he is at during his final hour is fascinating and keeps readers on their toes. People come and go throughout the story, and I felt Albom represented the part of life where people vanish or keep in touch. At the beginning of the novel, all of the musicians that knew Frankie were shocked when they found out he passed away. They gathered at a funeral, which is not a place that people think of as a happy occasion. This being said, I believe that his daughter Kai would invite all of the musicians to play music and celebrate his life. This celebration would also include old pictures of Frankie from his music career and stories of friendships he gained during his lifetime. Playing music together is what Frankie would have wanted if he were still alive.
