I found all of Tim's work very interesting to look at. He is incredibly talented and is extremely creative. Looking at the models of the various head and mouth movements was very cool because it really showed the different ways that a character would move in a film. All of Tim's work was very colourful which made it even more interesting to look at. Some of my favourite pieces of his work was the snake, the various models and the carousel . These are all very unique and thats what I like about them.

I really like this carousel piece made by Tim Burton. The colours he used on this make it very eye catching but it did feel slightly blinding because the room was very dark.

This piece made by Tim Burton is very interesting. I had never seen anything like this before. The way that this has a head coming out of the mouth is so creative and was very cool to look at.

This mood board contains some patterns and textures throughout nature which is what I would like to capture myself. It also contains some water reflection photography which is something that I would like to experiment with.

I had experimented with sphere photography in the past and I knew that I wanted to have another try. I decided to research some sphere photography but try to link it to my theme of patterns and textures and that is where I found these images. Creating this mood board really helped me come up with some first ideas and I would love to create something similar throughout this project.

This mood board here is full with light painting photography. I have experimented in this area previously but I would like to have another try. It can be really fun to create and I would love to try and make some results linked to nature. For example some flowers, trees and leaves. Researching this kind of photography has given me many ideas when making my own.

I wanted to research some patterns and textures in nature to see where they mostly appeared and this is what came up. Throughout this project I would like to explore and try and create some similar images. I believe these could come out very well. Creating this mood board will really help me to know where to find the best patterns and textures when taking my own images.

I took these photos using a mix of a DSLR camera and my phone camera with added lenses. The images across the top where taken with the DSLR. I think they came out well and the detailing is clear. The pictures at the bottom were taken with an added lens over my phone camera. I like these but I feel there isn't as much detail captured as the pictures taken with the DSLR. All of these images were taken on photoshop and I changed the brightness, contrast, saturation and hue.

These photos were taken by me on a mix of a DSLR camera and my phone. My aim was to capture close detailing of leaves and branches. I would say the leaf on the top row came out very well and same with the leaves on the bottom. I feel the other images are too blurry.

These photos here were taken all with my phone camera. I wanted to capture patterns and textures on different leaves and petals. To make these images to the best quality I possibly could, I took them onto photoshop and changed the saturation, hue, brightness and contrast on all of them and I believe they turned out great.

These images here were all taken with my phone camera again. I repeated the same process where I took them all to Photoshop and changed things such as brightness, contrast, saturation and hue. I really like how these came out as I feel changing some things makes more of the patterns and textures stand out.

These photos were taken by me using my phone camera. I wanted to capture as much detail as I could. I then took these images in photoshop and added a black and white filter. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast to where I thought looked the best.

These photos are the same as previous ones but I took them further and added a filter on Photoshop. When I was happy with the filter put on the images I then changed the scale of the filter to where I thought the quality of the images looked best. The filter that I chose was only subtle but I really like the end result because the photos have a different look to the others I have taken.

The leaf on the top left was taken with a DSLR camera but the other photos were taken with my phone camera. I then took all of these onto Photoshop and added a filter. The filter was called Plastic Wrap. I am really happy with how these ended up turning out.

These photos were taken around college using my phone camera. I wanted to experiment with a glass sphere but these images are not as good as I had hoped. I wanted to capture more details and take them closer up.

I used my phone camera to take these images. I am happy with the positioning and the lighting but I feel they all came out a bit blurry which is not what I wanted. Some of these photos like the blue and pink have some detail captured but I was definitely hoping for more.

I wanted to include some experimentation with light painting photography because I think it's a unique way to capture an illuminating outline of the basic colours of nature. In these examples I have only done a few squiggles to practice but I feel these could have been better quality, so I would like to experiment further in the future. I used a box light but i would of preferred to use a flashlight as I feel it would have been less harsh.

I decided to try and capture some photos with a rain drop effect. I took these by using a spray bottle filled with water and sprayed it over flowers that I found. I really like how these came out and I would definitely like to try this again in the future.

I manipulated these photos through the camera app on my iphone. I added a filter called vivid and then i turned down the exposure. I really like how these came out as I think they show the natural patterns very clearly.

These photos were edited on photoshop. I used a blur filter and added it to the centre of each image where i thought looked was best. I really like how these came out as I feel the details of the petals really stand out.

I edited these images on Photoshop by adding a twirl filter to the centre of the flower and then adjusting it to where I thought looked the most appropriate.

I edited these images through photoshop. There isn’t a huge change on these but I added a blur filter to the background which I think has made the centre of each image stand out a lot more which I really like.

I made these photos by cutting two images into strips and then intertwining them together and sticking with some glue. The photo on the left consisted of two bright pink flowers but I feel it looks unclear on what it was supposed to be as the images used are so similar in colour and shape. I prefer the photo that I made on the right because it is more clear on what the original images were. They are the same photo but I chose to print one in black and white to see what it would look like and I am very happy with how it turned out.

I knew that for my cover I would like some bold font but I couldn't decide which I liked so I decided to make a page full to hopefully help me choose.

I created these kaleidoscopes on photoshop by following a tutorial that I found on google. The tutorial was very simple to follow. I made these kaleidoscopes because I wanted to try a different effect but still base my work on flowers and leaves, patterns and textures. I am very proud of how these ended up turning out and I would like to make more in the future.

These photos here are more attempts at making a kaleidoscope effect through using photoshop. I really like how these came out. I think the colours are great and that they look extremely clear. I like the fact that you can still tell what the original image was even though it has been hugely changed.

I decided to make a few more kaleidoscopes to see if I could get some more interesting results and I believe I did. I really like the colours and how each individual piece has its own unique pattern. I would like to create more of these in the future.

I carried out some research on different ways vinyl covers have been layed out in the past. I did this research because I think it will benefit my outcome as a cover like this would be more interesting to look at than just a basic double sided cover. I would like to make a cover similar when creating my final.

I really like this kaleidoscope design as the colours are nice and bright but also you can still tell what the original image was which I liked. I attempted to use many different fonts that I liked but I feel that they looked out of place and didn't suit this image very well.

I like the font that I tested on the top row of images but I don't really like the font I used on the bottom. This is because I feel it clashes with the background and the writing is not clear on what it actually says. This is why I prefer the top font because it is nice and bold and clearer to read.

On these variations I chose to try placing the font in a different way to see if i liked it. I made the font into a circle shape and placed where I thought was best suited. I prefer the font at the bottom instead of this shape but it was nice to try something different. I probably will not be going for this font design unless i chose to use it for the actual record.

I was actually happy with the results at the top until it came to the back cover. The font was too dark for the image so it made it unreadable which is not something I wanted. I feel that I should have tested these fonts in white to see if I preferred that instead. I also found the font at the bottom hard to read so I will not be going with this design either.

I didn't mind these fonts, I felt they suited the kaleidoscope. The only issue was the back. The font was too dark and could not be read so I will not be choosing any of these for my final. I was going to try the font in white but then I thought it would be worse because the kaleidoscope already includes a lot of white.

I like the kaleidoscope pattern that was created but I felt that it would have been to bright for my vinyl cover but I still wanted to test some fonts incase I changed my mind. I was not the happiest with these chosen fonts as I felt they were unclear especially on the back and they clashed with this design. In the end I chose to not go with this design because of those reasons.

Both of these fonts were easy to read and I feel they suited the kaleidoscope well. I was very close on choosing one of these variations to be my final piece but I just felt it was slightly too much as in the bright colours and the very bold font. In the end I don't choose any of these designs.

I chose to try and layout my favourite fonts in a different way to see if I would like it but I wasn't very happy with the results. I felt this was better suited for a record design instead of the actual cover so I will not be using this layout.

I knew that this kaleidoscope was going to be my chosen one so I started to test as many fonts as possible to see what I thought was best suited. I liked the font that I had used at the top as I felt it stood out well but I still wanted to test it in a different colour. The font that I tested at the bottom I did not like. It was not clear enough and I felt that it did not suit the image well.

I tested some different fonts to see if would like something different but I was not happy with these. The font is unclear and that is something that I did not want. I like the text to be nice and bold and clear and these were not what I was aiming for.

I decided to try and make some more kaleidoscopes but using a different software. I used a website called Photopea to create these and I am very happy with the results. They were easy to make, all I had to do was select filter and then distort and kaleidoscope. I would like to try and make more of these using Photopea in the future.

I wanted to try and experiment with different fonts and colours on a kaleidoscope that I had made on a website called Photopea. I feel that the white font was the better option as it stood out more. I feel the black font wasn't very clear. I also tried the font at the top, middle and bottom to see which looks the best but I always tend to prefer the text at the bottom.

I knew this kaleidoscope design was going to be my final design so I started to test my favourite font in many colours to see what I preferred and I thought would be best suited. So far I am really liking the white font with the darker outline as I feel this stands out the most which is something I was looking for. I think I prefer the font being at the bottom because you still get drawn to the design and not just the font.

On these variations, I decided to try and see what it would look like if I turned the opacity down on the text. I turned it down to around 80% just to see if this looked better quality than just the normal bold text but I think I prefer the usual bold text as it is stands out more which is a quality I wanted.

When creating my vinyl cover, I thought that I would like to have something with the design on it as an added extra which is where I decided on creating a t-shirt. I wanted to try many variations to see what I think is best. I am happy with these results so far.

I designed the original image for this using Adobe Illustrator. I created a large circle with a line tool and then placed 12 smaller circles inside as the album I was designing this for includes 12 songs. I then made a circle in the middle and added the artists name and also a smaller circle inside of this to represent the centre hole. My design was then cut by the laser cutter but the first attempt came out bent and the lines were not etched properly so it got reprinted. The second print came out perfect.
