         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br>The "Tennis Court Oath"&nbsp;<br>The clergy and nobility met together realizing that an attempt at reform would be outvoted. A few days later they find themselves locked out of a meeting hall on the 20th. They thought they were being locked out by the kind which would be forcing them to disband. They soon would find themselves in a nearby tennis court. Which the oath gets its name from where it was signed representing commoners. The Tennis Court Oath was very important because it showed the growing unrest against Louis XVL.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Storming of the Bastille&nbsp;<br>An angry mob of mostly store owners and craftsmen soon stormed the Bastille. Around 1000 people including people of the third estate. The Bastille was a state prison used by King Louis XVL which held lots of gunpowder. The reason why people decided to storm in was to get weapons and ammunition. Lots of events happened after the storming of the Bastille which then soon led to the overthrowing of the King.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Abolition of feudal rights&nbsp;<br>On august 4th the national constituent assembly abolished the feudal system. This was crucial for the evolution of a modern notion of property and development of land. Then peasants were no longer needing to pay taxes. The nobility or upper class didn't have any more control. This created more equality between the poor and nobility.<br><br></div>]]></description>

It made it so some commoners had equal rights. But although it gavec cilil rights to some people it excluded others. That men are born free and remain free. Equality being one of the most important rights following liberty security and property.&nbsp;<br><br>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The kind and queen flee but get captured<br>The king and queen try escaping to the eastern frontier. But they were soon arrested in the town of Varennes. Then on January 21 the king was the first to get executed. Later it was the queen Marie Antoinette who was convicted of treason. Both of them killed on the guillotine.&nbsp;<br><br>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first use of the guillotine&nbsp;<br>The first use of the guillotine was on Nicolas Jacques Pelletier on April 25th in 1792. In front of what is now the city hall of Paris. The last execution used on with the guillotine was on 1977. Since France outlawed capital punishment. Around only 2639 people were killed by the guillotine while other died of other causes.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Napoleon Defeated in Russia<br><br><br>Napoleon one many wars against his enemies and acquired lots of land. But he soon has a crushing defeat on October 1813 at the battle of Leipzig.&nbsp; He was forced to admit defeat by Russia. The Russian policy of retreat deep into the Russian territory and refusal to engage in battle was very unpopular. But this won them the war against Napoleon.&nbsp;<br><br>

<br>European powers defeated Napoleon in the war of the sixth coalition. Then it ended the First Empire in 1814. European powers restored by arms the monarchy to the House of Bourbon in 1814. The monarchy was restored to the brothers of Louis XVI. Napoleon fell from power and Louis XVIII became king.<br><br>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Reign of Terror<br>The reign of terror started September 5th and lasted till July 27th.&nbsp; During the Reign of terror around 300,00 people were arrested and 17,000 were executed. Many people were arrested or beaten to death in the street. The Reign of terror started with the overthrow of the Girondins and the ascendancy of the Jacobins under Robespierre. This was a dark time with lots of violence.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Robespierre is executed by guillotine<br>Robspiere was a&nbsp; member of the Committee of Public Safety. He advocated for the rights of all poor or rich. Then after a year of Robespierre's harsh rule many other leaders had enough of the Terror. The day after he was arrested&nbsp; Robespierre and 21 of his followers were executed on the guillotine. He and his supporters were executed on July 28 1794.&nbsp;<br><br><br><br>
