         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>3&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; new ideas/information:</div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; In comparison to the control group, the exercise intervention provided significant improvements with glycaemic control. This was indicated by a 0.6% decrease in glycated haemoglobin levels</div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Exercise interventions in which the exercise prescription consisted of a variety of activities were as effective as those interventions using a single mode of exercise.&nbsp;</div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The physiological adaptations to a single bout of exercise for a diabetic client are short lived.&nbsp; Improvements which follow individual exercise sessions may be attributed to incidental acute movement following an exercise session&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;2&nbsp; &nbsp; ideas or concepts you were familiar with:<br><br></div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; There was no considerable difference between groups with regards to whole body mass, most likely a result of an increase in fat free mass (muscle) with exercise</div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Exercise programmes utilising a single mode of exercise may become too repetitive over long periods of time which would lead to lack of client participation.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br>1&nbsp; &nbsp; idea to explore:<br><br></div><div>-&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Longer term trials are required to determine if long term exercise aids in the maintenance of improved glycaemic control.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Strength training can be done under guidance<br>3. The goal of the client should be specific to him/her and not group based<br><br>(B)I knew training was available but did not think it was being promoted as much. Aerobic work should be done to overcome fatigue in cancer patients. This has been backed up by a study from the journal<br><br>(C) The idea for the next reading could  be even at the end of ones life exercise is beneficial and has some merit, be psychological or physical.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>NEW INFO LEARNT:<br>1) Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths.<br>2) Heavy smokers do not benefit more from PA compared to light smokers<br>3) High levels of PA did not have a higher level of reduction compared to moderate levels. Both high and moderate PA levels had a higher risk reduction compared to low levels of PA.<br><em><br></em>REINFORCED IDEAS:<br>1) PA reduces risk of lung cancer in general populations<br>2) PA reduces risk of lung cancer in smoking populations<br><br>IDEA TO EXPLORE FURTHER:<br>1) The mechanisms behind PA and reduced risk of LC.</div>]]></description>
