But they also felt a kind of giddiness, a secret joy because they were alive and because even the rain was preferable to being sucked under a shit field, and because it was a matter of luck and happenstance.” This creates mixed emotions in both the reader and the characters. They feel saddened by the death of Kiowa, but also a little bit of joy because they are still alive buried deep under all of the emotion.</div>]]></description>

It explains the sounds they heard and even what they saw. &nbsp;<br><br>“In this hooded poncho, everything caked with mud, the boys face was impossible to make out.”<br><br>This quote also shows imagery by explaining what they saw and how the boy was completely covered in mud.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“Whenever a man died it was always the same, a desire to get it over with quickly, no frills or ceremony, and what they wanted now was to head for a vile and get under a roof and forget what had happened during the night”(P.176). This is Logos this appeals to reason. This is the reason for all the misery, and blame of incidents that happened to the soldiers during war.<br>“The search went slowly. For the time the morning seemed to brighten, the sky going to a lighter shade of silver, but then the rains came back hard and steady. There was a feel of permanent twilight”(p.174). This is imagery it allows the ready to for a picture in their mind while reading. In this case the reading is able to imagine the scenery the soldier are at while looking for Kiowa. This also makes the readers feel like they are there.</div>]]></description>

He can feel the pain and recognizes the mistake that he made by seeing someone else doing the same thing.
