I also notice that I tend to get them more during the weekends.

On one hand I’m glad more of these things are getting reported, but on the other it just makes me sad because despite the reports, it seems to keep happening and at an alarming rate too. The first few weeks this semester, we had an egregious amount of timely warnings, not to mention all the ones we've gotten since. 

The University's default on the promise to conduct sexual violence climate surveys every three years speaks for itself. Admin's complacency is really sickening and saddening. Additionally, the large number of sexual assault warnings sent out only account for a small fraction of actual cases. We have never really seen significant action by the university this semester except for one town hall and the release of the sexual assault survey from 2018 (for which release requests have been made since it was run); far more needs to be done. The university must act swiftly to make it clearl that sexual assault cases will be taken incredibly seriously, and perpetrators will face severe consequences for their actions. I think the name "Timely Warning" is really ridiculous too. It's always too little, too late. If it was truly "Timely", the university would be taking more tangible action to prevent these "Warnings" from even occurring. I can say that I've seen anything change, and I'm not hopeful either. As someone who has suffered from sexual violence, and victim-blaming, it feels like the university is putting the responsibility on me to "reduce my vulnerability". Who is making themselves vulnerable?? Why do I need to reduce my vulnerability? What have I done wrong? Exist? Is my presence my vulnerability, how then can I reduce this? It also never says how severe it is so by the time it is reported I never know what to think. Knowing that there is a threat and knowing what type of threat is occurring is an important part of keeping yourself and others safe. The sooner you can see this information the better chance you have to act accordingly.
