Join Dr. Parnell, an early childhood education professor at Portland State University, as we explore ways to increase student engagement in your preservice teacher education courses. His specialty areas are rethinking readiness in the early years, disrupting traditional early childhood research, creating learning designs, and documenting and making young children’s learning visible. You’ll gain curricular ideas, through student examples, that you can apply in your classes next semester. You’ll even hear about the Helen Gordon Center, a Reggio-Inspired campus children’s program at Portland State University. Time will be allotted to collaborate with your peers. You’ll leave the session setting an intention for your professional life.
